What do you think they intend to do with RDM?
While the western players want RDM to be anything but Healer, in Japan, RDM is only seen as a healer in all FF games. (Even in FFXI, its practically seen like BRD, in that they see its main role isnt support, but its support is highly welcomed.)

I'll completely lose my shit if healers get a sword user before the dps roles.

Because of the "Mage" tag, it makes sense to be a healer/support, You wouldn't have a warrior in the back line healing. But red mage has been seen as a fencer of sorts, it will more then likely be a healer or a caster DPS. or a melee caster, either way it will involve spell casting in some way. So those people will be dissapointed if they expect a tank or a full sword user dps.
