Unfortunately some European countries have extremely strange laws about competitions and contributions, and competing for prizes like this can be illegal in certain circumstances. Of course, this doesn't apply to every single country barred from participating at all, but I guess it's easier for S-E to deal with the countries it knows will allow the competition without any problems than it is to get their lawyers to check out all of the other regions. It's unfortunate; I was lucky enough to be able to participate but I've been on the other side of the same problem before and wished they'd let me enter even if I had to sign a form confirming I wouldn't be eligible for the prize.

(Baffled by the implication that Rudy's haircut is unusual enough to be the model for that male entry; there are hundreds of other anime characters which existed before him with similar hair.)

That hairstyle isn't even the same though. It's longer and doesn't completely cover the left side of the face. If I was going to say it was similar to anything it would be Gokotai from Touken Ranbu but even then it's not that similar at all.

People are just mad the contest didn't cater to there every whim and desire. The same thing happened when the designs from the LL were posted people complained and all the same complaints were brought up ("To similar to what we already have", "To many X", "Too X") and now people are complaining that the LL designs were better and these ones shouldn't have won. (I personally wouldn't be surprised if some of the LL ones were looked over because of people's complaints).

All these complaints that the designs are two similar , I'd like to point out that just because a design is in a similar style (i.e.: sidepony) doesn't mean that the designs are too similar. Bayonetta's hair is in a ponytail but would you say it's the same as 1.0 Minfilia's ponytail? Just because a style is a similar doesn't mean it's exactly the same (and, yes, I am not ignoring some of the designs that are very similar). If we can't retread styles then obviously SE shouldn't be adding in anymore new hairstyles at all because asides from a select few SE has done every possible hairstyle in-game.

The claims the overlooked designs were objectively somehow better isn't true. Some of the designs it's very obvious why they didn't get in, and other's which could have been contestants simply lost. It's unfortunate but it happens. There is no petition to be had; everything is subjective. If you don't like any of the choices fine. Wait and we might (hopefully) get another one where the overlooked and the losing designs might get another chance.

Yhisa: they should have made the voting process more defined and equal for sure. I'm all about giving the community opportunities, but when said opportunities ate so veiled, it detracts from the sentiment. I think they meant only your last like will be contributed to the scarf giveaway, but a lot of people interpret it as being attributed to the main voting procress. When such a wide audience takes away a different context, then something went awry in the communication.

Im sure everyone in the gaming comunity would have liked to participate. ive seen here a collection of hairstyles on tumblr from someone who couldnt participate in the contest. Im sure one of them would have make it .

Trying to justify segregation by lack of knowledge is not cool sir.

So how exactly should then have handled voting? I mean, the Like system is as much a blind ballot as you can get. You vote for the ones you like and move on. Clearly there's going to be one that's everyone's darling, but everyone also knows that only 150 people will be getting that scarf so there's really no point in 'gaming the system'. They picked the best way to handle voting for everyone who wants to vote.

Sigh if they running out of hair ideas.... why not just put all the final fantasy hairstyles into the game....Rikku, Yunalesca, Yuna, Sephiroth, Yuffie, Reed, etc i mean come one how many final fantasy games are there... that is quite alot of hairstyle right there and im surprised they have not done this idea yet

nah they had to have a contest, then select a bunch of remotely look alike hairstyles from older FF characters n kingdom hearts to push it forward .

I'm not really happy with the female selections too. I want a punkish looking tomboy haircut. I don't want all that overly girly little princess haircut. We have enough of that. I want my damn short/medium hairstyle with disordonned spikes. I'm tired of wearing Lightning's hair just because it's the closest to what I dream of. Hell, I'd absolutely love to get that classic FFI Warrior haircut that has been proposed in the male section, but for my female character.

You guys think they'll give us a replacement hair to vote on since female #12 is gone now?
Twelve I hope so, not liking the ones winning >_<
