I agree with this assessment. The Meta on Aether has been shifting pretty hard against the Mage Types. People focusing objectives more to prevent herding into caster LBs, lots of Defensive and Restorative Lbs to counter chain Caster LBs, and Melees are actually understanding their roles as assassins when their LB is up.

This falls in line with what I was saying before - that the Meta is new and still shifting. First impressions in an MMO environment are rarely the correct ones.

Is not a 100%. First, you would have to catch every tank with it, otherwise Tetsudo and LB counters. Second, you'd have to perfectly sync all 3 LBs otherwise healer LB counters as its heal is instant, as is tanks. And third you're not taking in account diminishing returns, purifies, etc.

I can't speak for other Data Servers, but Aether is becoming wise to Cometeor.

This is you bringing up a 1v1 issue and basically saying it was okay for melees to have a free kill when a caster is alone. You went even further to say one player should shut down almost all of another’s abilities and their only option should be to run away. I checked you because this is a horribly bias statement that has made all of your other comments invalid. You claim it is better for the “team”, but when it comes down to it you expect melee to be OP. In your “team” game it is okay for a melee player to run around solo and kill certain archetypes easily. Healers tend to be bunched up due to medica, prism and such, all it takes is two mages to do the aoe sleep and lock the healers and there is nothing they can do against a twin mage LB if its cast at the same time, when two teams gang on one, this happens alot.

Slaughter 72man is, and there is just no other way to put it, absolute crap.

It's completely discouraging to see that they just release these maps and rulesets and let them stay as was and not make even decent adjustments to rules and meaningful balance in future patches.

24man Slaughter (8v8v8) on the other hand works great(at least better than any other frontline mode) as it's engaging and you can actually make a bit of a substantial difference by playing well, while still not being as stressful as say an arena deathmatch.

Furthermore something that was completely predictable happened, yet again something the devs either didn't care about or are just oblivious to an extent i can't even understand, the secure mode died, and of course that happened as the PvP population in this game isn't that big to support 2 active 72man maps and the GC restrictions just make it even harder to manage such a huge mess.

Slaughter 72man just needs to go, its the easier solution, it won't happen, but still.

Large scale PvP is very hard to balance(VERY hard) and even harder to keep more than one large scale map alive and very few games i can think of have pulled it off or even try for that matter, instead they are reasonable and release maybe 1 large scale map every now and then, think 2 years or so in between for a good amount, just so it's there and those games have way larger PvP populations too btw.

These points are the reason why after releasing the first 72man Frontline they should have started making smaller scale(8v8v8 or simply 8v8 or 16v16 even) which would work much better and are much easier to get decent balance given the same amount of time.
Sadly , and although i wish it was not going to happen, SE is probably just going to keep pumping large scale maps for Frontline and as an almost sure consequence they will be broken in one form or another and to a greater or lesser extent, but still broken.

Tanks shouldn't be in the clump that is getting slept or you're bad.

You also can break sleep using purify, you can also use purify on a slept target. You can healer lb immediately after the first cometeor, since it breaks sleep to negate at least 1 cometeor.

Outside factors can also break sleep. A pld from the other team that scorned, a shadowflare on the ground people are standing in, the node AE.

Additionally, you can also have good melee or tanks or a caster with a well timed sleep to interrupt LBs if they are playing with their head up and know what to look for.

A single meteor is more than enough to kill a single or even multiple people. And no amount of defensive cds will save you from a spam, trust me I've tried, even under the influence of a tank lb, sacred soil, and focalization. You're gonna get hit hard.

What did Faq say doesn't happen that happens? He's part of a Slaughter premade that utilizes Cometeor and he's here speaking on points that make it both broken and NOT broken. You need to do your research on players and/or take your own advice and read.

I dont need to do any research because I just left a FLs match and witnessed this with my own eyes. All I'm doing is presenting what I've witnessed and seen to be true: facts. I'm not trying to make myself out to be better than anyone, if you feel I'm better than you then maybe you should deal with your inferiority complex on your own time and not in a public forum.

Put 4 points into vit, add a fending accessory. If you're going to be dumb and not ever try to counter, why even complain?

We've survived cometeor spams multiple times and have also done coordinated sleep+cometeors that were properly countered yielding no kills. According to you, this isn't possible.

Please tell me you havent witnessed a meteor spam wipe an entire team, b/c if you say otherwise it's a lie or you dont pvp much. If you can wipe an entire TEAM with a lb how is that not OP?
