...yah just no thanks. Its the one thing i hated for FFXI. Being a RDM from the start and not having the time or gil to get dozens of pieces of gear (and therefor looking "amature") was annoying. Too many people ended up relying on it.

Please do not put this in, it got so bad in 11 that alot of individual spells had gear swaps, this was horrible. I'm glad 14 has steered away from this.
k i'm done with this thread, nothing more to say in it that will change the input anymore. hopefully the devs add this either way but anywho i'm sure instead of time collecting more gear we can all just quit and play a game with pvp instead least after done grabing gears from dungeons we can least have something to do after.
Lol it so didn't.
Oh wait you're right, I shifted in 80 different pieces of gear to cast fire :3
.....or you know most of the gear swap in XI mage wise was down to changing an elemental staff that alone added 10/15(30%+ magian) potency to your spell and a healing set to regain MP quicker. Most melee gear swap was adding in accuracy or attack or str.
Then again macros WERE hard to make.
reminds me of how pop singers change outfits between every song, are you a pop singer?
apprently you never played the game much. take RDM for exp: gear for nuking (elemental sets) gear for fast casting, gear for mp refresh, gear for enfeebles, gear for enhancing, gear for specific abilitys (recast tmers, potency..ect)
Even for DDs it went like that, people went nutz over it, everything from TP set ups (haste mainly) WS (which consist of different stats, since each WS had different modifiers) ability swaps (timers and potency) ..ect
Personally i hated how they made gear that was SOOO specific, it got out of hand and didnt help with the lack of space. People in here already whine about "i dont want level/class specific gear because it takes up too much space" so i dont think this would fly either.

And my main jobs are SCH, PLD, DRK, RDM, COR, BLU and WHM..all jobs that require a lot of gear swapping but not all gear swaps are necessary in all situations (especially post abyssea lol). However it's a gross exaggeration to say you need "a ton of swaps just to cast a spell" when the reality of the situation is you only need to swap a lot of gear if you're under performing in areas, especially as a mage having an HQ staff (back in the day) was really the only thing you had to swap most of the time; For SCH, stacking INT was the main swap for Helicies and so on.
The gear was pretty specific but the only problems with Gear Swaps people had in general was the blinking and low inventory space because SE had our inventories pretty limited for those who played numerous jobs, the swaping itself is painless and not excessively needed unless you're getting resisted out the ass lol since very few enfeebles for example were worth trying to boost it's effect.
`Sides, if you recall SE never intended us to do the whole gear swapping thing lol. I don't know how they intended us to do some things (like enfeeble gods before the adjustments to the skill) but yeah. So the game is playable without "excessive" swapping, it's just if you have an efficiency hardon is when you're packed to the brim with gear swaps.
ok ok here something you should have learned in FFXI so it seems u joined after abyssea you can make cure macro's to a player
/ma "Cure IV" <p1> and so on and in alliance <a1> <a2> etc etc ... so blinking wouldnt effect in any way because the code would find player either blinking or not hehhehehehe nice try go back get brady games handbook LMAO
