PvP video is pathetic

As I remember it the only real PvP in XI was competition over NMs and the mobs that dropped pop items!!

Im pretty sure they realized that pvp is gonna be crap on current combat system before they even started planning on pvp mode. But its just yet another feature they have to do because they "promised" so and every mmo clone is also expected to atleast have some sort of crappy pvp. Personally i wish they would use the time to actually do real content instead of broken features noone uses after first 2 weeks.

Also i can hardly wait to see how this works out for EU players. Even on pve content there is always 1 second delay minimum on everything, aka melee cant hit moving targets and aoe hits even after you move out of it. This sure brings GREAT promises on pvp where ppl are most likely to move instead of standing in one spot whole time.

Final Fantasy has never been PvP focused. If you honestly set your expectations high for it then you don't know the franchise very well.

I'm not playing ARR for its PvP, but I do enjoy PvP. So if they have a good PvP system, I'll happily take part in it every now and again. :)

You get lag? maybe get a better internet connection? not trying to be rude.
but I only get lag when there is like 5 raids killing Odin, and my PC is not all that great with highest settings. and a "16 meg connection."

are you playing on PS3? or PC? if PC why not try shutting down background programs. and search for spyware and remove it. it should help your connection. and reduce lag.

btw PvP will be great, and I look forward to it!!

you can't judge pvp from a simple trailer showing combat in a PvP Arena.


real PvP is either abusive?? guessing you have only experienced pvp where everyone uses hacks? and Zergs?
real pvp is where players have even odds of winning, and it is all based on there skill. and planning. + team work.

Why does everyone always act like skill-based pvp and gear-based pvp are mutually exclusive? Just because a game has gear slots doesn't mean the pvp takes zero skill to win. Heres an idea: don't step into the arena until you're geared up. Pretty simple. And if you're decent, one gear slot will not tip the scales so much that you cant win.

This. People are getting WAY too upset before they have even had a chance to try it. Yoshi is a self-expressed avid PvPer. I'm not convinced that the system is going to be good yet, but pronouncing judgment at this point is just silly.

Yes, the PVP looks to be worse than GW2's PVP which is an accomplishment.
