This post is about the position of the "microphone" in FFXIV. Some players said that they wanted the "microphone" to be positioned at the player character's location rather than at the camera's location. They want to hear things from the player's point of view. The dev response, however, said that the microphone position is actually located somewhere between the camera and your character, which is pretty common in games. They said they would look into adding a microphone position closer to your character that would be selectable in the config menu.

Personally, I'm fine with the current microphone location, but there's nothing wrong with having more options!
