Hmmm. That makes sense, since the pet AA should be @ 3s and through testing you do a lot less Burning Strikes than AA, when they should start out equal at base SPD.

That could explain strange results I was seeing when testing @ 354 SPD and 354 CRT (since there was less artificial delay), and the fairly consistent results I had with a higher SPD (started to smooth out that delay somewhat)

So really, we should be seeing for Ifrit that his AA should be going off at the same rate as Burning Strike at base SPD, and have greater gains than it currently does, instead of SPD alleviating that delay somewhat for BS to only catch up to AA frequency.

Definitely sounds like Bug Report time.

Yeah, someone really needs to compile all this and submit a bug report, unless someone can think of a logical explanation for this.

So...just to be sure I am understanding this correctly, while the increased Spell Speed technically decreases the recast time of the pets GCD skills, as the time goes down some arbitary delay increases, in essence nullifying the bump. It's why the parse data is showing no difference while the frame analysis does show a reduction in the recast?

I'm not sure, but it's about 92-102 damage per smack. One potency for SMN is pretty close to 8 damage, so, something like 13-14 potency per smack in practice.

Man, the Summoner is a really weird job. Please note this is still incomplete and all of these conclusions do not include pets what so ever, only take into account the damage dealt by the summoner himself and are based off being i210..., but there's so many weird interactions, especially with how I'm calculating weights.

First, you need to understand that there is a difference between Book Whacker and Non-Book Whacking Summoners and how their overall damage is distributed.

12.1% of the damage dealt is from your Auto-Attack. Auto-Attacks come from Strength, which makes up 27.1% of your AA Damage, or, 3.28% of your overall damage.

Next, you have to understand that Stat-Weights are proportionate to the increase of X stat, versus Y. Summoners don't increase their Strength, so 3.28% of their damage isn't being factored into an increase of their main-stat. You'd think this is nothing, but it leads to some really funny results.

Now, these weights are based off the following stats: 105 WD, 1079 INT, 735 DET, 716 CRT, 510 SS, the set is this link: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/RDZB

Bookwhacking:
INT: 1

Just, lol at how badly the stats crashed because of that Strength Influence on Damage. It's funny, because this is the only job where a lack of Auto-Attacks interact in this manner. For every other job, DET/SS/WD hardly shift! Dunno, I had a weird giggle when I saw this.

Wait a second, SS... Is good? I thought that too, until I started playing around with SS itself. Notice, we had 510 SS? What happens if I bump it up by 140, to a respectable 650 SS?

So as you can see, stacking SS definitely has a negative effect on Summoners performance as a Job. Not only that, because of the 20% Enhanced Pet Buff, the overall proc chance makes clipping even worse when you have higher values of SS. Could you mitigate this by including an additional Ruin in certain areas of the rotation to mitigate DoT clipping? That's a possibility and I've not checked it out yet.

Now, judging by the posts in the last couple of pages, with how SS hardly does anything for Pets and an increase of SS, despite decreasing pets Recast, increases a delay between each cast, kind of counter-acts any gain of SS on pets.

Now, I'm fairly certain these will change even more once I've added pet data, but I just felt like sharing something a bit amusing.

Torin will you be making a simulator or adding to the existing one once stat weights look good?

Dervy - thanks for all of the hard work. Good stuff. I got 2 questions for you - and a conceptual answer should suffice, no need to do more work.

1.) Given the assumption that Spell Speed basically does jack for pets and they are not included in these weightings, would it be safe to say that when pet data is included, it would move these weights further toward crit and det, since we know for sure those help the pets at least in some quantity.

2.) Obviously, this is done in single target analysis. Anything else would be next to impossible. But in a lot of encounters, SMN dps often depends on how well you can utilize AOE and slash Damage. Painflare,(200 pot used instead of Fester if 2 targets), Deathflare, and Enkindle all are Int/crit/det based and more impactful on dps if multiple targets. Would it be safe to say, that if you could do theoretical weighting for AOEs, it would also bump crit and det some additional quantity over Spell Speed (Bane also, and I think you said det effects dots more than SS)?

The more oCDs your rotation has, or what I should say is, greater the influence oCDs have on your overall DPS, the less SS weighs.
