Edited my last post to include 354 data. So in a 20 minute parse, there is 0 difference in Ifrit's Burning Strikes and Autoattacks from 354 to 592 speed. In both parses there were 394 Burning Strikes.

So, if 325 SS only decreased your cast times by 0.16s,
0.16/325 = 0.0004923077
0.11*0.0004923077 = 223.4375
So, can someone stack 903+ SS and tell me if they get 2.9 recast? (Lmfao)
At base Skill/spell speed, we don't have 2.5GCD, but rather, 2.50226 or something like that. The game hates decimals for some reason. If the same is said about pets, I'm going to get really frustrated, as this is going to be A LOT of work...
Not Summoner but it can be useful for you Dervy.
At 644 Spell Speed.
Fire 1 - base 2.5 --> 2.39 -- 0.11 secs
Fire 4 - base 3.0 --> 2.87 -- 0.13 secs
Flare - base 4.0 --> 3.82 -- 0.18 secs
You definitely gain more from Spell Speed with longer recasts.
If I recall 26.5 Speed = 0.01 GCD for a 2.5 seconds spell.
Just grabbed some dinner and had been thinking about this. Dervy - We have a 20 min parse where 238 Spell Speed did not grant Iftit even a single additional Burning Strike. That is longer than any encounter actually lasts. While it really isn't looking like Spell Speed impacts the pets at all, even if it starts to creep up at even higher spell speeds, the increase is going to be so small, and the pets are just a fraction of SMN damage. Any impact to numerical weighting is going to be negligible. I think that you can proceed with weights as if speed doesn't effect them.
That being said, do you have the data you need from an actual damage perspective on the pets (INT/DET on how hard they actually hit)?
I'm confused about some people not seeing any results over longer trials when testing SPD, or even different Crit values for that matter.
Among some that I've posted here is basically my highest and lowest set as a comparison.
1680 second Duration (every second counts)
751 Spell Speed
479 Crit (7% Chance)
552 Auto Attacks
541 Burning Strikes
354 SPD
354 Crit (5%)
552 Auto Attacks
485 Burning Stikes
I think the best way to test it would indeed be by frame time, as there does seem to be something strange with the Enhanced Pet trait.
Ideally
355 SPD Test **
355 SPD Test - ** during Enhanced Pet Proc
High SPD
High SPD - during Enhanced Pet Proc
------------
** I say 355 SPD or whichever closest value brings you to the first tier of reduced SPD. Remember in 2.0 where going from 341 to 342 would bring you to 2.49s GCD? That's a huge jump for a single stat, so you don't want that messing with data.
-------------
Mind you I haven't gone back to testing Garuda in this manner, but it's hard to believe that Ifrit would be effected and not her.
---------------
Edited: Of course, probably shouldn't rule out any glitches from the parser (not picking up hits if they happen at the same time maybe?)
Well....did a quick test of my high SPD set on another PC. (the one I test on is barely capable of playing FFXIV)
Got:
200 AA
196 Burning Strikes
which equalized to my 28 minute parses is 541 Burning Strikes.
How many Enhanced Pet Procs did you get with 5% and 7% crit?
One thing to note about Ifrit is that his Enkindle ability applies a DoT as well as a burst hit. Perhaps it's for the sake of the DoT calculation that spell speed is used for pets?
