The server is full, try again later (1017)

Meh, just because something is a cliche doesn't mean that it's not true. I figures if we were going to have a complaining thread, you guys can complain about "deceptive advertising", and I can complain about you!

Also, the game launched and worked for a short time on launch day. So they fulfilled their promise. Find me the small print that says that you will enjoy 100% uptime during the game's active duration and I think you may have a case. ;P

I wonder if it's possible for them to at least fix the queue issue. If I have to sit in a queue on a new game fine, but I want the queue to work and not drop randomly. Players are less frustrated when they know how long they have to wait instead of being messed around and dropped from a line up. Mind you, when it's a players turn it would be super awesome for the game to load too, and not give a "connection to server lost" error, only to return you to the main screen and make you mash log in again until something happens. :\

SE, the first company to make a game that should be pm2p (pay me to play) games.

If you haven't been watching the General queue you may not realize our 1017 woes are not because the worlds are overcrowded, but because SE can't fix their problems. It's still annoying as hell, though. :mad:

Even if they came up with new servers for people to start on what about the overcrowding of the existing ones, I sure as hell am not rerolling and I wonder if they even have a transfer system in place yet.

I have played a few mmo's that allowed for free server transfers so that players didnt have to rerole and could continue playing with friends, this would be a good idea. I think at this point in time it's SE's best chance to ease some of the rage, at least lets your paying customers play, they may not be happy that they can't play with friends or on a preferred server but it's better than sitting at a log in screen wondering why you can't even get a chance to play after several hours of attempting :(

OK, i did! Don´t know how, but it worked. I log in the FFXIV!

But still don´t know whats the difficult to put a queue for the players...

I would just like there to be a queue again, really.
It would be better to know how long I'm going to have to wait to play as opposed to just blindly attempting to log in every 5 minutes. And then resolving to just go do something else for a while and then coming back and just... nope. Still the same error. It feels like I"m being jerked around.

Didnt they actually make a big deal about people staying in the queue in order to reduce the load on the servers as opposed to hammering them repeatedly with constant login attempts?
Doesn't this mean they've kinda shot themselves in the foot?

I'm not really one to make a complaint about how I "paid for early access and I'm not getting it" but honestly, it was a marketing decision designed to get us to preorder the game; it was offered to us as an incentive to TRUST square enix with our loyalty, to say hey, I'm being offered something in return for my faith in the relaunch of a previously failed game, to give them the benefit of the doubt and put our money on the table.

The plain and simple truth is, they're not delivering that. They hyped this game up so much, they tried to get everyone to come back on board with them after 1.0, to entice NEW players with a shiny new and improved game, and after all that marketing they didn't think about the hardware to support that? It just.. baffles me. Really, it does.

I'm not upset about my money. I'm not upset about not being able to play. I'm upset because I put my faith and trust in a company and gave them my support despite their previous shortcomings (I even ENCOURAGED other people to give this game a chance!) and they just spat in my face again with empty apologies and excuses.

This is extremely disappointing.
This is not the type of experience I was expecting during Early Release.

Been trying to get on Midgard all day. Not literally... tooled around doing other stuff, but kept the laptop up with the launcher open and kept trying.... since about 12:00. It's now almost 10:00. Gotta get to bed soon.

Now i´m looking for players afk and there are a lot of then. Square don´t kick and refuse to put a good queue.
This time i connect whiout a queue.

possible solution...Rolling restarts and an estimated conclusion/resolution of issues time. Would at very least calm players and stop their servers from being swamped with log in ques.

That happy moment when you don't get the "world is full" error and you get a long loading screen......only to be followed by a lobby connection error which shatters your hopes and dreams.

I'm betting something like that is incoming right now as it appears all the servers are coming down or something. As to whether or not they actually fix the issue(s)? Magic 8-ball says: Don't Count On It.

I've had error 1017 for all of Sunday. My total playtime of Early Access has been 30min. Way to kill the hype.

I'm about to Limit Break this game. I was in queue for my server and then after going from 15 in queue to 13 it game me 1017. My lvl of Mad just went from 5 to 20.

Wish I could play. Been trying to log on for 12 hours now. SMH.

I haven't played today cause of the 1017 error but I at least got to play yesterday for a long time and leveled several of my characters. So constantly bitching about it isn't helping them. Just constructively say, "Hey guys over at SE, there's this error I have been experiencing and I would like you to fix it ASAP." but most of these posts that I have been reading have been as follows:"aiejfksuiganewlednviasvnsdhoi!!!"

I'm also stucked with this error, for several hours now. Not a single queue. I wanna punch someone in the face right now... ...seems like SE doesnt care at all about us.

I must say thank you for ruining my Sunday Square-Enix. Perhaps I will log on when I wake up, or perhaps I will continue to see the same error I have encountered for the last 7 hours.

I have not been able to log into FF14 all day either. And I've noticed that the network seems slow such as the response time for square-enix.com forums and such. I like FF14 I hope they step up to the plate and get it all straighten out before launch day. Let the party begin.

I was able to play earlier, and to say the world is full would be an overstatement at the very least. The game felt like 1.0, it was so shockingly dead, this is a joke. It feels as though SE just said fuck it, and went to bed. Possibly one of the worst, if not THE worst, MMO launch I've been a part of in many years.

Gameplay = cant decide, cuz cant really get that far into the game. Farther than some, but not really. Is it worth wasting my time to sit here and read threads to figure out that this game sucks because they cant handle mass amounts of people trying to play? Lol

Im very curious to know how many refunds there will be lol
