Petition for more wards / instanced housing

Here, here! More housing. Each player pays minimum $12 a month, SE reports 10 million players, has me thinking SE can afford the terabytes required to allow more housing. The clear and obvious desire from the player base is not new "fill in the blank". Players want a plot of land to call home. Been screaming it for years. How has this not been adequately addressed?

It's not a solution but I'll take it as a quick fix.

Given the fact SE doesn't give two shits to what we Americans think or don't think about their game design, I doubt this petition will go anywhere.

this system is terrible and need to be fixed, and "Shirogane Incident" was the last drop for a lot of players.

Really, it should be possible to get at least SOME house if you're willing to work toward it. The maybe-once-a-year login lottery we have right now is just absurd.

Just out of curiosity is the JP community just as vocal about this?

The system itself is flawed, but the very least they could do is add more wards and more plots to accommodate every player.

I only have a house because I lucked into it. Last person standing in the FC means I have one for that company. I wasn't able to log on when servers were up to get a personal one but I felt I didn't really deserve one since I have an FC house already anyway. I'm really sorry for the people who hoped to get a house but didn't. If I was trying to house hunt in earnest I'd be sorely disappointed. SE should restrict housing severely based on account/FC membership or guarantee one for everyone.

After 2 years my FC finally had a little bit of hope for getting a house, and Square Enix dashed it spectacularly against the rocks. This is the only game that I personally have ever played that does not allow instanced housing so everyone has a chance at it. I'm sure everyone is singing the same song as me, but here are my issues with the housing system. Locked content like airships and gardening. The limited number creates a toxic community (who else's general chat has been blowing up with people bragging about having more than one house?). House gouging (Don't even pretend Reddit isn't blowing up right now with people reselling these houses for more than three times what they are going for). Free transfer is a poor work around. Hopefully if enough people get on board SE may actually do something about it, but I'm starting to think my hopes will be with Capcom here in January with MH Worlds coming out. At least they give you a home right at the start!

For a game this big with this many players, the amount of housing available is absurd.

2 to 3 months of grinding out gil to have enough to buy one of the 72 larges in Shiro that were added and I come up empty handed. This may have already been mentioned, but players with alts on the same server should NOT be allowed to buy more than one house(2-1 FC and 1 personal), regardless of their alts. It's not fair to anyone that these players can dash everyone else's hopes just so that they can either own 10 houses or flip them and sell them at an outrageous price....and what the hell do they even need that much gil for?

Been a while since I've seen a signatory thread. More wards will help quite a lot, and I cannot for one second believe that 12 can't be readily expanded to 48 or even 96. That wouldn't solve the housing anomaly, but it'd certainly make things a lot more palatable.

If you're going to lock content behind housing and fc housing (i.e. Airships) then it had better be accessible to all and not limited to the lucky few. We all pay subscription; the content should not be withheld as such.
Greed breaks communities and turns mmos into such a toxic experience that no small amount would rather leave than try to slough through.

There NEEDS to be enough housing so everybody can enjoy this feature of the game and not just several people and their alts! This whole housing situation is ridiculous and needs fixed ASAP!!

Signed, I'm annoyed that SE is still grasping so strongly to the broken neighborhood system. I don't know ONE person who actually has a house in an active ward.

/signed. I am just tired of SE and some fanboys ignoring obvious issues.. Quality of life content IS important content.

We need a few things here.
- More ward for sure.
- We need restrictions on housing in the way that prevents people from having more than 1 per server(at least for the time being).

- Adjustments to the interiors of apartments or personal rooms to allow us to have different housing interiors inside. Help reduce some demand since not everyone cares about the exterior... At this point I'd be happy to have a private chambers with the size of a medium house, the current apartments do nothing to help.

-Countermeasures against resale for massive amounts like randomized plot timers before a plot can be bought again... make it far more risky for the buyer many will be less tempted to try. Punish both parties.

So many things they can do to help combat the situation. What we need is for them to respond. This issue wont go away.

I rarely see people in the wards interact with each other.

I'd love instanced housing. I don't care if people can't walk past and see my house, as long as I have one that my FC and I can warp to.

I shouldn't have to sacrifice sleep to get a house.

Though I don't feel like it will do much good (which makes me terribly sad)... I do wish they would fix this. I just want somewhere to put all the shiny things I've crafted!!! There was nothing more upsetting today than seeing the group on our server that's basically the "real estate" team snag a few houses in several wards.

Just to bring something up after reading over some posts... the original housing announcement was made BEFORE 2.0 was released. As a 1.0 player, keeping an eye on what they were speaking about and wanting. I remember seeing them speaking about this and about how the original plan was to keep FC and personal housing in different wards. Obviously they went against this... I just don't see the need for personal housing to be in wards.

Why not make them instanced? Create a list to select a players property to enter(like apartments). Or one for party members housing instance much like the FFXI mog house. Only don't take years to do this one.

When it comes to quality of life content... SE tends to fall behind every other mmo developer. I don't think they realize how important quality of life content is... It's just as if not more important that raids and dungeons. EVERY successful MMO has those. FFXIV is nothing original in that regard.

So OP where will you be directing this thread or atleast trying to get one of the higher ups to look at it to show how many people have signed? Someone could link it do the offical twitter page maybe?

Instanced Housing If instanced housing is like the guildhalls in .hack//GU (where one speaks to the gatekeeper to get into their guildhall, but can also access other guildhalls with an invitation of sorts), then count me in. It'd be great if gardening and maybe landscaping was still a possibility.

More Wards would be my preference but they concern me because 1.) that puts more strain on the servers (we have 10 million players - would wards even be possible for that count?). 2.) even if they added more wards, there likely wouldn't be enough and people who a.) have slow download periods (it took me six hours to download this patch, and yes I started downloading it as early as it would let me) b.) had queue issues, or various other uncontrollable factors. That means people with slow download rates or bad queue chances would still go without even if more wards were added.

I'm fan of "the neighborhood system"/ward based design, through and through.
Honestly? I have nothing against exclusivity of it, I like it more this way. Privilege, not right. The fact that you have to work hard to get where you want to be. If SE would make instanced housing possible, I would not object it, but as long as things stay the same I'm not going to join my voice to those who lobby for instanced housing.

I too missed my chance to buy large plot today by mile- but, still, acting quick and smart, found my two FCs medium and small plots respectively. After, my FC of 4 irl friends split third of leftover money between people who wanted to try and buy private plots, and 3 of them did. Tally of the day: 1 medium and 4 small plots.
Remaining two thirds were saved for future chance to get our hands on large plot.

We are not even on some poor dead server. We used to be on Leviathan (where we had medium house as well; bought when wards 9-12 were added), but then we chose to ride the wave of free transfers to EU datacenter. 4 of us have FCs on Lousoix and Omega, the two FCs that got their halls today, and private purchases were made on those servers as well.

We are casual players, only one of us crafts seriously and one gathers, but lo and behold, no one or nothing stopped from saving the gil and taking time to try and pursue our goals for FC estates. And we are going to continue, as long as it takes to make the dreams of FC mansion reality ;)
