Some people find the glass half full, others find it half empty. Then I find people on here that complain they even have a glass at all.
"Umad?" Is that all you can say?
So original.
Anyway, SE is notorious for working as slow as humanly possible so I wouldn't be surprised if the battle system was what I predicted. And it takes more than three months to make a good battle system even for a talented design team.
The glass isnt merely half empty, it's dirty and has a chip in it, and I just cut my lip on it and am now bleeding profusely all over my good clothes which I borrowed from my brother who is now going to hate me and I need him on my good side to get his kidney when mine fails due to the water in this half empty, chipped, bloody glass being contaminated by pollutants.
[QUOTE=Kazahashi;73842]You do realize that this is completely impossible.....in the SP FF games of old you switched to a battle plane to fight, everything was secluded to one small area, so you could flood it with a tsunami or have a huge meteorite fly through the air to decimate enemies.....I don't see that happening in an MMO. You guys really need to get your heads out of the clouds and start realizing that this dev team is comprised of HUMAN BEINGS and not supernatural beings capable of granting any wish you decide to come up with. Cut them some slack.
Dude, it is true that most of these effects are not so practical to implement, but still the FXs at the moments are lame, especially for mages. Just stop crying out so loud. The good stuff about the BBs it´s to share thoughts/ feedback, no? By the way, they asked for feed back to begin with!
The original design of this game was intended to charge people in order to play; it is true that right now it´s free, but for how long? If SE decides to start charging money, what will you think about it? Have they said that the game will be free forever?
My expectations are always really high on this company. They have always showed that their CGs skills are super professional and amazing. The amount of games they have released is huge and a solid proof. So why is wrong to compare this game with games they have done in the past? Is not to expect more the correct way to think? Have they learned from the past? 5 years in development is a short time to release a game? (Again I also know that they realize that this game it not fully released, therefore they are not charging)
Seems you had read all the tread thru here so, you can also realize that there is still a sense that this game is missing a lot. I have played it a fair amount of time, and I feel that I have the proper background to share my opinion.
I think that all of the ancient magic is horrible. You can rarely even make it work, and when it does it is just a little cloud of the element. This game has some of the best graphics for an mmo and has really awesome potential based off of other final fantasy games where the spells looked awesome. I know that the developers can make better spells and battle effects, even XI had better spell effects than this.
Not sure if it was posted in this topic but there was a comment about the battle effect on the french forum dev tracker.
After translation:
I think that's encouraging. :DQuote:
Hi everyone! We talked to the development team about your comments, and they are aware of your worries. These changes are only a first step in the implementation of better battle animations. Even if all those changes won't happen at the same time, we think that a lot more amelioration are necessaries. Like always, if you have idea about the topic, don't hesitate to share them.
