FYI YoshiP did an interview on Famitsu re 6.2

Personally, I'm disappointed that it looks like we aren't getting another exploratory instance like Eureka and Bozja for relic content. Like so many people say it content that gives some of that old school MMO feel with how much the community builds on it.

However, I understand why they're taking a step back from doing another one as from numerous sources I've gathered the general consensus seems to be people favoring less this kind of content. Everytime I talk to somebody about doing Eureka or Bozja they just do hard "ughs". So the data is there.

On the other hand Bozja has the highest interaction of capped casual content in ShB outside of what was MSQ required. That’s a pretty big stamp of approval on my opinion

Indeed. Trying to lump together the reception to Eureka and Bozja together as negative isn't painting an accurate picture. Eureka was largely received poorly but Bozja learned from Eureka's mistakes and made something that was a lot more palatable. The loss of a new exploratory zone refined even further is quite sad.

I love Eureka and Bozja is ok
bit disappointing that we are going back to shopping list relics but with criterion dungeon and the new Deep dungeon i really don't mind they take a break from Eureka/Bozja.

Yeah but you're forgetting the numerous mishaps with Bozjas content being unfinished and how not well received it's story was. There are people still running it but clearly not enough to dedicate another relic tier with instanced areas.

Believe me, I love Eureka and Bozja, and I really wish to see a 3rd more successful crack at the idea but truth of the matter is that for a lot of people, this stuff just isn't in their interest and we've had 2 expansions with instance content being tied to relics so it makes sense for the dev team to take this opportunity to scale back and do something similar to ARR or HW to ease in again with the general playerbase with their relics

I mean if it was the most popular casual content I don’t really see why that isn’t enough alone missteps with the story ending or no, it’s not like puppets bunker or the restoration is getting any more people than Bozja and they have nerfed the relics into the absolute floor at this point, field content is perfectly evergreen this just reads as cut content “why should we dedicate time to a relic zone when we can just make you run CT again for it”

Since I wasn't there at the early inception of Eureka, can't really comment to that but in its current form, I would say Eureka is the better version of replay value exploration content, between Bozja and Eureka. Odd thinking Bozja was supposed to be the upgraded and improved version of Eureka.

Bozja was great in Shb for sure, objectives were being done, and the raids were healthy and alive, the skirmish fates seemed balanced in a certain fashion, along with the CEs being pop'd very quickly and filled up likewise. But in EW Bozja is dead, aside from the exp skirmish zergs, the raids are pretty much failures now, which is a shame, because I loved them but each time I have entered Bozja or Zadnor in EW, they have been in sorry states, CEs only spawn by chance more or less, if said skirmish needed to spawn them just happens to get cleared, otherwise its just people running in circles between the same skirmish spawning to get quick exp.

Meanwhile Eureka still was very alive, even more so now than earlier this year, and was the most played content for me personally, during the hefty amount of content drought of this expansion.

Somehow Eureka just feels like the better option now, even though you don't get exp from it really, and once you have gotten all the armors and most of the weapons you want, I still want to go there often, and wish there were more rewards or novelty glam to get from it.

If I had to place the reason from why I like Eureka more, its not only because it feels more like an alive zone, it's also that players have to actively kill the specific mobs to spawn said NM boss, which even with overpowered logos can still one shot you, if you don't respect certain abilities of theirs, which I feel like is really missing in this game nowadays. Only other places which seem to really do this of out right murdering you if you get hit by specific abilities are later levels of Deep Dungeons, and savage Ultimate raids, the last 2, Savage and Ultimates, aren't my cup of tea at all, so I don't bother with those but Endsinger had a few mechanics which also one shots you if you don't respect the red planets, which was a neat touch, and wish there was more of those, and why I like Eureka, monsters there actually can be utterly insane killers if you don't know them, or respect their abilities.

Kinda wish they would bring back a lvl 90 Eureka, call it, "Eureka NEXT!", or something, new lvl 90 cap(Old Eureka but raised lvl cap, same zones same monsters but with a flair of upgraded tools), and all zones now with logograms support but also the monsters now become exponentially more lethal AF(mostly just bosses and your usual suspects of +5 zone lvl cap mobs, with hidden great rewards), as you progress, and would serve as new way of earning sidegear, and no more bunny fates, all goodies coming from boss fate lockboxes etc.

With no Exploration zone in EW, they better make sure to make Criterion Dungeon, the next Deep Dungeon, and Island sanctuary are varied/nuanced as possible. Otherwise if they present no valid future replay value, it'll be tough with any content droughts past those tbh.

The problem with Bozja/Zandnor is, it feels almost exactly like retail WoW. You run always against artificial walls, which hinders you from progressing. You rank is too low? Try again next week. And have fun to grind the Loathsome Memories. And those artifical walls do not fit to the story telling there.

Current Eureka isn't that bad I admit, but in the past you couldn't use mounts until you were a certain elemental level (which reset in each zone) and levelling with friends was more of a challenge. I didn't spend much time there prior to it being nerfed into its current form, but I was active in Bozja pretty consistently since it released.

Another thing that I see people assume is that they're gonna have us run only ARR and HW dungeons and raids again. I'm pretty certain that won't be the case but you can quote me on this if it turns out I was horribly wrong, but It's more likely they'll have SB, ShB and maybe even some EW content tied to it.

Also maybe even tie criterion or variable dungeons into relics
