Not everyone who disagrees with you is out to hoard houses or something. It's genuinely just a terrible idea.

You're focusing on players when the blame is ultimately on SE for not prioritizing any semblance of a fix for housing scarcity.

You could demo every single FC house with less than x people (pick a number idc), every grandfathered house, etc. and it still wouldn't remotely be enough. The current housing system is fundamentally broken for an MMO that operates at the size FFXIV does. The blame for that lies solely at SE's feet for A) Not designing a system that scales meaningfully and B) Failing to address that issue when it became blatantly obvious it's not sufficient years ago.

The issue here is that you're thinking that I'm doing this to make more houses for the public, when it's not true.

I support more wards and concepts such as instanced housing and I absolutely place the blame for people's current greed at the feet of SE for the artificial scarcity.

I just also believe in restricting FC houses in this way. Assuming the scarcity issue is fixed, I still fail to see why a solo FC or a FC with less than 5 people should hold a FC house. I don't see how anything good can come of people manipulating the system for any reason.

Interested in a culture shock? Visit the JP DC. Its totally common over there to have a Solo FC with own Alts. Shocking I know. But NA/EU arent the target audience, not in the past and not in the future. If the JP Playerbase doesnt have an issue with that, this wont be recognized as an issue at all. Theres only 2 options for NA/EU. Suck it up and play within the rules (e.g. make your own FC for better chances) and wait for new servers/wards or we have to leave the game.

This makes even less sense.

If houses weren't scarce, why would you care if some shell FC had one? It literally wouldn't affect you at all.

The only reason the current restrictions exist is because of the scarcity. If SE solved the issue, there's actually no system left to manipulate. I do hope you understand that part.

Because you're entirely missing the point that just because an FC is small in number doesn't mean it's manipulating anything. Those of us in smaller FCs have to work twice as hard sometimes because we can't just coast in a big FC where the leaders do everything. We put our blood, sweat, and tears into everything we do. We have just as much right to exist as those giant FCs that blind invite people to make them nothing more than just another number. And some of us in these smaller FCs are trying to get away from exactly that type of environment into one where we actually matter and can make a difference. That's why I started my FC. I was tired of the bs in big FCs.

there are a lot of shell FC's just so they could own a house, but i don't care about that. Everything SE did over the years of just been abused by players because they have never made enough housing. I really think SE devs dont read this because they just keep effin it up. the only way to fix it is to either make unlimited wards, instanced housing, or so many wards any one who wants a house will be able to buy them. FFXIV is no longer restricted by PS3 and personnel housing was a selling point in this game for years, but for years they have purposely made it crappy. Right now on Gilgamesh Empyrean has 200+ plots all in 1-18, how stupid is that.

Why would some only have a small number of people in their FC? Not a hard concept, some want to only play with their friend group or not belong to a large FC. I fail to see why either is an issue.

Instead of punishing those groups of people, Square just needs to make instanced housing a thing or improve apartments so they can be upgradable. It's not greed to want to play with your friends and run an FC.

I would also add that just because an FC is new doesn't mean it's a shell. There is no point in trying to create a new FC from nothing if you can't get a house for it. Half of the benefits of being in a free company are tied to a house. No one is going to join an "FC looking for members, we have a bank and buffs". While it may seem like people abandoned their formers FCs to create shells for the purpose of getting a house, many of them could have been thinking about it for some time but the lack of housing has made it difficult.
