Season 2 Storyline (another 10 years) [discussion]

I haven't looked at every single HB in this thread so I don't know if anyone's already posted this but here are all the things [spoiler] talks about after talking about a new tale beginning.

So far we know the alliance raid has something to do with the Twelve. Some time over the course of the next superarc I fully expect us to see all the rest as well.

Otherwise the story will start to suffer big time. It's the issue WoW has faced, after WOTLK they had to dig deeper into fluff lore to find villains and it went off the rails becoming bad since they delayed fighting the villain setup by Warcraft 2 for 4 expansions instead filling with with stuff from the appendixes of the Warcraft 3 manual. Then after that its just nonsense. The MCU is dealing with it too because nobodies gonna be able to really live up to Thanos and as well acted as Kang is he's a bit too comical. Really comic books in general have a huge issue with it. The Star Wars sequels suffered this as well both in its old EU books and the new movies. A ton of animes that go on for too long have this issue as well, which is why the more well regarded series tend to run for at most 200 episodes and the kino stuff is 25-60 episode series.

Yoshi-p mentioned Season 2 story is going to be unrelated to Season 1 story so we may not see the Scions for a while since...

they all went their separate ways in Season 1 ending to deal with their own issues and begin establishing their new path in life now that their long time mission is over. They even closed down the Rising Stone to symbolize they are truely separating to move on with their own life paths now.

My best guess WoL will start a new journey and build a new set of companions for Season 2 during the first part of Season 2 storyline being 6.1 to 7.0. Then either during 7.0 or 7.1 to 7.55 the Scions slowly return due to word spreading about WoL getting involved in stopping a new world ending threat crazed Antagonist. Though I expect Estinien to be the first to return due to the words he told WoL in the finale before everyone left the Rising Stone when it closed down.

I am also interested to what kind of civilization they may introduce as well. Especially in regions never touched by the Garlean Empire and remains unexplored.

They may even introduce a 2nd technology advance civilization if they wish in those unknown regions since littler amount of lore has been established yet involving those locations.

Not to mention what kind of Jobs they may introduce due to the new civilizations introduced.

I do hope to see a sword/gun job as a DPS job either as a Modern Assassin Job, Corsair Job, or a Noctis/Yozora Job.

The sword/gun job being Corsair job opens up the opportunity to bring back Corsair Job and into FF14 similar to how they basically brought FFXI Scythe Dark Knight into FF14 as Reaper.

As for the other two, being a Modern Assassin or Noctis/Yozora Job, these are just out of interests to see how Yoshi-p and the development team may figure out how these may work since Modern Assassin Jobs are rare to see in video games and the Noctis/Yozora Job aspect brings in a interests to have a flying sword combat focused job either as a melee dps or range dps. It will also provide a interesting insight about how yoshi-p and the development team handles as Flysing Sword combat job since Flying Sword jobs is more common in Wuxia style series compared to other fantasy series so it is not often seen outside of Wuxia series. The Noctis/Yozora Job aspect can work either way for being a DoW or a DoM Job. The Modern Assassin Jobs being rare in video games is often the effect of how difficult it is to make a Modern Assassin work gameplay wise and lore wise but it is a interesting aspect that may provide new opportunity due to how less explored the Modern Assassin Job is.

Though I won't deny I have some person interests in Modern Assassin job concept since it is my favorite style of combat in games that manage to introduce Modern Assassin Jobs but as I said it is a job rarely seen due to difficulty introducing it gameplay and lore wise.

I suspect Corvos might end up being a Post-game zone after 6.0 (I have suspicions), and not part of any future expansion.

I know the Devs. were talking about Dalmasca earlier, likely see this place soon. They clearly already made the cities via cutscenes, so it is possible they're going to re-use those resources from that and re-use the assets from the Ivalice Alliance raids.

I don't think we will see Nagxia and Koshu any time soon if its way too similar to the other Far East regions (don't think they will rehash old ground for the moment on that).

Meracydia has been heavily leaned on for a long time.

I feel like Dalvalan Grath and The Unpromised seem very highly mysterious, and if you look closely at the map... the landscape west of it seems very similar geographically.

Isle of Haam or Isle of Yorn..either one might be the Island sanctuary (MAYBE)

The Mysterious Floating Land seem really mysterious, and at first I thought it could be the Sea of Clouds or Ayz Lla, but its no where near Garlemald I'm pretty sure.

Unknown Islands North of Koshu - No Names attached, nothing is known.


If I have to place my bets the next story will go to...in terms of another expansion -

Dalamasca - Meracydia - The Void as a few ideas.

I think The Voidsent will be the last big bad, they're not exactly gone and the WoL only managed to piss them off alittle bit back in the Crystal Tower Raids.

I have a question when it comes to the geography. The current "world map" that we have, that only contains the three great continents (Aldenard, Ilsabard, Othard), kinda reminds of Europe to East Asia northern hemisphere. Is this map just one part of the northern hemisphere of Hydaelyn? If yes, then damn, this world is really huge.

Now I'm kinda wondering where Meracydia is in southern parts. Is it the "Australia" counterpart or the "Africa" counterpart? I mean the places in Hydaelyn aren't exactly 1:1 but Hydaelyn geography is a bit inspired of our world.

With Meracydia, if it is the Africa counterpart, I ask myself whether Tiamat and Bahamut ruled the whole of Meracydia or only the northern parts.

Watch the world from the Moon zone: You can see Meracydia AND the New World as it turns. They've already mapped out the Remaining 2 major continents of the world they'll be added in over time.

New World is 'Murica, Meracydia is basically Austraila.

As for the other shards, there IS a possibility of there being a FFV style plot of the worlds being merged into one down the line (there's a barrier seperating the different shards but what if that barrier begins to fail with the dissapearance of both Zodiark and Hydaelyn now that they've finally been dealt with).

If they were to do that to any shards, I speculate it'd be to the First and the Thirteenth, the two shards that have taken the most damage. Their energies would cancel each other out for the most part, and open up a brand new world to explore...and depending on how it's done, with minimal issues.

I feel the Void still has a lot of work it needs done before we could really integrate it.

And I’m not sure anything stood out, I do wonder if we will have overarching villains (again) or not. Hard to imagine that being done but at the same time I’m not sure a bunch of unrelated stuff fits how they’ve done XIV.
