You have no idea how this could effect anyone? Really? There are many ways, especially if you can just reroll give all your stuff to your new char, all you would have to do is spend a week leveling up one class to 50. There are many ways this could get out of hand. I know, I play with a person who does crap to other people, and he will take advantage of this.

It can't do everything. One character can't let me play with people I know on two different servers. It would be a dicker move is WoW did it, yeah. Doesn't mean it isn't still a dick move in FF11.

What is the reasoning for charging extra for additional characters anyway if you "expect" players to do everything with one character? The hardware and management cost for an additional server is so low that charging extra for it is like charging extra for a paper tissue at a restaurant. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Well, it also helps prevent people from being dicks on game if they have to pay to switch servers, another char, and stuff like that.

If someone wants to spend all that time and effort doing that, it's up to them. Some people also re-roll for less malicious reasons. Out of hand though? Hardly. Other MMOs allow you to do this and I've never personally seen an issue with that. People are allowed to do what they want with character spaces.

Advantage? Sure but it's something that everyone can do. It's not against any rules set forth in the game or the ToS.

i like playing multiple charecter's even in ffxi i had 3 diffrent main's i played regularly and several alt's who i saved for when i wasn't feeling sociable/didn't want to deal with friend's/ls.

people like that are going to behave badly no matter what limiting how many charecter's isn't going to change that. some people just enjoy annoying or pissing off other people just black list em and move on.

How about this then? Allow players to blacklist an account. That way no matter how many characters they make you'll know that they've done something to piss you off at some point.

Yes, this is what they should do. Let blacklists work on a per-account basis.
