I'm not opposed to Emet-Selch showing up in flashbacks, though only if he happens to be there alongside the likes of Elidibus and Lahabrea. Especially Elidibus - it's his turn to receive focus and character development now.
As for Ardbert, I don't mind at all if he shows up again. We don't know for certain that he has vanished completely. He's seemingly merged with the player character but it may be possible that he's able to push to the surface every now and then, especially if his willpower is strong enough. He'd also be an excellent plot device to allow the player character to deliver voiced lines in a cutscene much like what happened right before the final boss for 5.0. That'd be pretty neat if used sparingly.
Not sure if that would be great, especially for us female characters. I think that if Ardbert is still there he would just be in our head.
Amazing ending to an amazing story, loved that we have a good long chance to reconnect, see him in action and get to know more of Emit. Also to know how he really feels about the main character and see his talents at work.
Would love to see more, although not sure how it would fit into upcoming adventures.
