Blue Mage: Are you kidding me!?

It is very disheartening to have them, paid professionals, not come up with these ideas, or ones similar to implement one of the cooler jobs in FF history in a way that would allow it to be an actual job. The thing that makes it even worse is that they want to add other "limited jobs." That is so stupid. Even worse, they said that Beast Master would be one and that is one of my favorite Jobs. I even made an example one, and I made changes to the them to fit the game it would be in FF14. While I would not expect everyone to like my example, it does show that with a little thought, any job can fit this game.

You know I’ve tried for days I’ve tried to give a perspective of reason and common sense to let people at least experience the class before feedback but no.. so let’s try a different approach..

YES THE DEV TEAM HAS PERSONALLY SINGLED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO WANTED BLU AS A META JOB OUT AND BETRAYED YOU! They’ve lost all sense of reason and are disconnected from their fan base. They did a beloved job wrong so we should rise up and slay them! -insert angry mob noise.- and we know it’s horrible and we know it’s bad because WE KNOW ALL THE FACTS NOT THEM! We know all about the new limited job system.. we know when they are going to raise the level cap for blue and by how much.. we know how it’s going to play.. we know it’s not going to ever be end game content.. we know we know WE KNOW!!! Really? Do you know though?

No.. you don’t. None of us do. But please continue slamming and condemning a job and an idea before you even experience it. Call it a mini game.. call it whatever you want. I’m done trying to bring logic and common sense into this. I’m done. I choose to go experience this job with an open mind and to come back to the devs with my own opinion. On blue mage, on the limited job system, on 4.5 in general and I will do it after I have given it a chance. I hope you all do the same.

The dev team has given us a lot of good stuff over the years. Yoshi tries his best to please the fan base and most times i find myself saying "we do not deserve him" due to the ire he draws at times. The paid professionals comment is very condescending to a team who spend their lives on this game making content. This team works a hell of a lot more than your average Joe for us and for one I am grateful that they took the time to make an extra "limited" job that probably wasn't even going to make the game in the first place. With the added comment about BST and PUP actualy making it yeah sign me up for something different to do.

I don't raid at all and I'm disappointed BLU isn't a normal DoM job. It's one of my favourite jobs in the FF series and I was looking forward to maining it and doing all my normal game activities with it (MSQ, roulettes with friends, weekly 24 mans, ect).

Everything is a side activity by that standard. I mean, roulettes? Side activity. Weekly 24 mans? Side activity.

No one said that BLU wont get their level raised immediately, you are acting as if the sky is falling down because the max cap is 50 and roulettes are currently locked.

What if, and what if, the developers felt like this could be a great moment to prepare yourselves with gathering your toolkit. And when Shadowbringer comes out the game is updated to where BLU can join roulettes and bosses are now immune to death etc.

Being fair, they actually did say that. They made the point that the level would be increased incrementally over the course of several patches. So it certainly won’t be immediately under the current plan

I agree with the later part, though. I believe that adding a standard job with the assets used could be done later on and make everyone have what they want.

It was meant to be condescending. People who are paid to make the game and do spend so much of their time making it should have been able to do it right. Especially if people are coming up with ways it could/should have been integrated on forums. Com one now. Yeah they do some great work, but they are not beyond reproach, and if I am disappointed in something they do, I am allowed to express that.

I'd rather not have the job at all tbh. I think the idea of a limited job is one of the dumbest things I have seen in a mmo.

Guys I would say I'm ok with How Blue Mage is (In fact I'm fine with it). The Fact that Blue is Suppost to go out in the wild and get it's Spells is Fine. the Fact it starts at Level 1 is Fine. The Problem be is this we don't know if it going past ARR. If it'll be ready for Shadowbringer meaning will it ever see Level 80 and so on that is the problem. Lets take Guild Wars 2 the Ravage (It Tanks, It Heals and it DPS) and guess what it goes from 1 to 80 and yes you have to play it clear up no skipping at all (is there an issue with that Nope). the issue is not Duty Finder and Deep Dungeon or PVP it's the worry your going to start investing in a Job with very low Return. Problem is it's been Proven over and Over that it can and could Work except SE is Saying No It can't. WHY Is it because they don't see how when I can pick 5 games not including FF11 that it can. I had to play BeastLord from 1 to 80 in EQ2 and go out and collect every Pet the only thing I didn't do was my Weapon because it would be double hard to do compared to the other Classes. and I did the same for Channeler a Priest type getting all diffrent parts for my Pet. For some reason SE thinks FF14 is a Diffrent MMORPG and I can say one thing before BeastLord was let in EQ2 the Developers scream left and right they would never put it in (in fact you even put the name BeastLord in the Forums it was Deleted after you were done and you were kicked out of the Foums). Really any JOB is up to the Dev's and if they want it. as for Blue Mage I say this Bring it and I don't care if I have to collect Spells from 1 to 50 or Clear up to 80 (I'll do it without 1 scream) but It'll be up to the Dev if they are doing a kid project or a Job.

Sounds to me, and I admit I know very little of the info at hand, that the concern was that if blu could join in a duty you'd end up with blu who haven't bothered to get decent spells yet and ruin the run and this was how to solve that.
The other thought I had was due to the variety of spells it could technically be run as a tank or healer not just dps?

Not sure and yeah sucks about no DF but I think I'd rather know the blu is functional in the run instead of a blu who has 5 skills and can't do anything. That's my 2 cents and that's 2 cents from someone who's been too busy to play 4.0 at all.

I am in the same boat I usually don't go on the forums but I hate this direction they are taking. FFXIV was always about all the classes being able to stand on even ground and the balancing of those classes so that they can all participate in the same content.

This limited class system looks absolutely terrible I really hope they stray away from it and just discuss how to balance and lose certain skills that wouldn't work in an MMO. Red Mage isn't exactly how it was in previous games but they allowed it to work well in FFXIV with the balances and adjustments they made. I'm very disappointed they didn't do the same for Blue Mage.

I've played FFXIV for years and this is the one piece of news that just absolutely perturbed me. I hope with all of my soul that when the level cap for Blue Mage is increased, they will reconsider their actions and make changes to allow Blue Mage to raid. The sooner the better.

GL with tht if everything go the way thy looking blue mage going to be just a job soloing and can only do stuff u already done the way it looks is thy afraid of breaking tht whole the team together tht mess need to go but still i don't see blue catching up anytime soon because thy didn't want blue mage in this game in the first place because of the farming also the ability to do wat the hell we want to do with our loadout bars thy want to keep jobs with combos etc other than just casting the dang spells u want to cast Tht's why i don't play black mage because itdon't feel like or look like a black mage it look like a fake want to be black mage Tht's why we didn't want thm to mess blue mage up but look at wat happen ok we can gave them blue mage but they not getting into main story line tht was There answer to there fans ya i'll give blue mage a try but i'll still feel like wat was said was stupid because balance can be made over time but we will see wat happen........
