Phase 1: Merge servers, 2-3 into 1, until they get 10 servers with near balanced numbers.

Phase 2: Once transfers are made, 2 weeks later (giving people a chance to settle and decide if they like the new people they've been introduce to, along with their old friends. Open up server selection transfers, for those that wish to commune together on an FR/DE server etc.

I dont understand why that is difficult to grasp

Because forcing people to merge then giving them the option to move will undo the balancing of the servers as you mention above. Lets say they do what you suggested above. What happens when an entire linkshell decides the merge sucked, tries to move 50 or more people, and not everyone gets in? Better yet, how does the above suggestion become fair to those that would like to play on a server with a higher population of people that speak their language? If you merge 2 server with 12 french speaking people on them each, thats not really helping the issue at all. Even after doing so, its not like they would have any idea what server they should then choose afterwards to increase ther chances. I just think the issue itself is much more complex than both sides are making it out to sound. Slap dashing 2 servers together has just as many issues as the way they are currently going about it. They chose one, and it just happens to be one some people don't agree with. I think the best thing we can do is use this next month to organize ourselves the best we can so that everyone gets the most out of it. I would spend less time complaining about what won't be changed and more time changing things that are within my realm of control. I think in the coming days and weeks we will see a number of threads open up that have servers organizing themselves for the move. That, to me anyway, seems better than giving some people no option at all.

Also, it was my understanding that all of this is only temporary until the new servers are developed for 2.0, but I could be wrong.

The best solution is to show us what the New World # are going to be named before we make the decision. That way anyone who's already on one of the 10 most populated servers, can just choose to port to the new incarnation. Everyone else has to pick.

It's a bit too late for SE to go back to the drawing board on their implementation, but if with the huge outcry on all language forums, we may see some kind of change. I feel like what I proposed is the easiest, least obstacle laden course of action, but everyone usually tends to feel that way about their own opinion.

I gotta say, the amount of QQing on these forums really kills any faith I have in this games "community".

You guys ask for something, GET IT... then cry about it. If SE provides and you STILL cry, that proves you will literally cry about anything the developers of this game create. The sense of entitlement is disgusting.

Honestly it's a vocal minority. The more I talk to people on Saronia, the more I come to realize that most people are just excited to be starting in a new place with enough people to make the whole ecosystem work =)

It's great that we have been heard and he makes a good address of the issue. There is a chance they will change the current plans.

These were the options: Personally I like ② the best out of all of them... This way we can stay together and still give those people who want to go somewhere totally different the choice! ... for all the reasoning in the post this one just screams out at me as the obvious best choice.

①A + B⇒A World to merge with B World
②A + B - X ⇒A World to merge with B World, except people that would like to move are able to choose a different World
③A + B - C ⇒A World to merge with B World, except people that would like to move are able to choose to go to C World
④Prepare 10 Worlds, set a limit, and give everyone the power to move their characters to a World of their choice.

Of course you do. You're on Gysahl, a high pop server. You won't be the "little guy" coming in and trying to fit in. If Saronia merged with Gysahl, it wouldn't be a new community. It would be Saronia trying to coexist with Gysahl. It'd be the same story if I took the option to transfer elsewhere; Server B trying to coexist with Server A.

Option 4 is the best choice because it creates new, cohesive communities-- not a coexistence. I do empathize with your desire to resist change and stay with what you're used to, but a new community is better for everyone overall. You can make something new and better with new faces. It's really not as bas as people are making it out to be.

I have been playing since launch. I never played beta but from what i hear at launch was just like beta. And it was full of ui lag. Poor tutorial. But I still played. I was actually quite into the game. Leveling up all i could. Basically all disciplines of hand, and land, and magic. I was not really bothered by all the lame nonsense. Item's not stacking high enough, UI lag, Transportation issues, no quests just leves just to name a few.

I believe several weeks after launch. SE came out and said basically we know this game is bad but we will fix it please be patient with us. I heard this and was utterly impressed and glad. They where not going to charge me a sub. and let me play this game as they make it better. As the months have rolled through one after the other, after the several players polls and live interviews, and the updates and letters on the lodestone. I for one have not had any bad thoughts on how the game is progressing. It may be lil slow in coming because of the excitement and anticipation of the new stuff. But it doesn't bother me.

I trust Yoshi. He has not let me down. There are many people that will agree with me in saying he is awfully too nice to the lot of you. You really do not deserve all the creativity and hard work him and his team are doing for us. You don't take any of that into consideration. All I hear whenever some new information comes out is people griping and complaining. It really is annoying. I log onto lodestone to check the news and see the server merge and i was like oh great the forums are going to go nuts today. I look at them and WTF 2 pages full of complaining and whining.

I typically use the forums to comment on some ideas that are actually good and should be atleast looked at by the devs. But lately all i do when i log on is look at mass amounts of crying. It just makes me not want to even log in and browse the forums.

Exactly man. Not to mention that most of the people on here complaining about this method could give a shit what happens to the few French or German players that have no one on their server to talk to. They stated that as one of the main reasons why they chose option 4 in the initial letter, and everyone convieniantly chose to overlook that while raging. Thats why I am glad they just made a decision instead of taking a player poll about it. I don't want most of the people raging in these world merger forums making any decisions on my behalf.
