plenty of people wont be able to pay the large chunks at once...and im sure there are lots of people who will get bored and not sub for a month here and there to wait for stuff to accumulate. Dont lable it what it is not.
totem drops should be 100%, if SE wants to make you do the battle more they should up the required amount of totems to trade in for a weapon. Doing the fight and getting DM at the end is a mood killer, with 100% totem drop at least it feels like you're progressing.
side note: flaming cause you don't know how to use the search function is lulz
am i the only one that doesn't believe this guy has 100 wins and no drops. These threads that complain about drop rates seems to be some sort of indirect bragging to be.
by large chuncks are you referring ot the $30-40 for 6 months which is less then a console game.Quote:

No this is a bad idea. I played ffxi for years and most if not all the LS had the same shit. I dont mind bringing the good things from ffxi over to ffxiv but the ffxi lotting system no thanks. The system that ffxi use has been hi-jacked for the benefit of the few. The LS leads think just because they are the lead or what not believe they are entitled to any item that drops 1st, and this goes for groups of players as well. We dont need other players demanding that every1 pass on the things that drop if you want them, everyone goes to an event everyone should have the same chance of lotting an item regardless if you are the LS lead or not. The point system that LS leads use is a sham, its all about control. It was team work that helped get the drop so everyone should lot on the item/s they want, not just the selected few because they think they should have it 1st.
The current inventory drop is fine it could use some tweeking. SE should allow players to give any duplicate drops away. The system know that you already have the item that you can not have 2 of therefore, let the second item hit the loot list and allow the player the option of passing the same type of drop thats already in your inventory to another player.
Sorry but you are the only one. Create a character on Karnak and ask anyone you see on the server. Go troll somewhere else please. I have been extremely unlucky in getting the drops.
Also I'm not asking they increase the drop rate of the weapons. Simply make it so you can pass it to someone else if you don't want it. But the totems should be 100%. I'd be able to buy 3 ifrit weapons and at least 1-2 moogle weapons by now if that was the case.
I deserve one per 20 fights. Not this RNG garbage that keeps rolling 0-92 when i need 93-100 to get a weapon.
In FFXI Dynamis you would see all the time people get 950+ bids on items in the pool some people have luck others do not. I'ts always the case with RNG. Yesterday I crafted 9 Felt Berets and tried to meld T1 Mind materias. 2nd meld is always 40-48% chance of success. Well I failed 2nd meld 9/9 times. Odds were that I should have won at least 4. But its different in practice.
At least this way you are not locking an item to a players luck. Everyone gets access to the drop in some way or another THAT IS what makes it fair. So I could still run another 100 times and never see a drop but when LS member 1,2,3 gets their next double they can pass it to me.
Tell me if you see a trend here..
Everquest Boss Defeated >> Item goes to group pool > Distributed - FAIR
Everquest 2 Boss Defeated >> Item goes to group pool > Distributed - FAIR!
FFXI HNM Defeated >> Item goes to group pool > Distributed - FAIR!!
WoW Boss Defeated >> Item goes to group pool > Distributed - FAIR!!!
FFXIV Dungeon 50 >> Item goes to individual pools > Can be passed - Somewhat FAIR!!!!
FFXIV Primal >> Item goes straight to inventory > WTFBBQFAIL!!!!! - UNFAIR
No game should have this bad a loot system. I just want my fair chance to an item than relying on an obviously broken RNG method of distributing loot.
I'll put on my flame resistant armor for this, but I don't think you've really made your case, here.
In a straight-to-inventory loot system, it would appear to be even more fair than one with a loot pool. That is because it's impossible to be scammed out of a highly desired item. No one can ninja lot it away from you, or kick from the party so that you're ineligible to receive it. In that light, it's even more "fair" than loot pool because there's no way to "game" the system.
We could compare the situation to a roll of a die. Let's say you and your three friends play a game where you want to collect all six numbers, so you keep rolling the die until this happens, the last one done is a loser. Invariably, one of your friends will get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 before everyone else, maybe even in the first 6 to 10 rolls. But not you; you keep getting 1s, 2s, and 3s. You're frustrated every time one of the remaining players rolls a 4, 5, or 6 they don't need, and you still keep getting 1s, 2s, and 3s.
But, it's not unfairness that you're upset about. It's the frustration of being reminded that your number hasn't come up.
