I know rotations but I don't know my numbers. There isn't much feedback for optimal ones. Everyone just uses the popular ones from people who parse! It's a damage per second class. Knowing my own personal dps is needed. Everyone I know who used one improved greatly, it puts us who don't at a disadvantage.

Here's the interesting thing. I never tanked in WoW.
I joined Final Fantasy XIV back in 1.0 as an Archer, became a Tank during ARR's end and HW with DRK and PLD.
I learned how to play my role without parse or guides to help me figure out what I need to do.

I think learning your class is about trying out and reading. Playing the class rather than forcing yourself to reach certain standards. But I learned it as I leveled the class experimenting with the abilities and reading the descriptions. People usually expect tanks to know everything about the run so It's even harder for us to get some good intel when we need it during a duty.

Anyways. I see your point, I just respectfully disagree with the idea of a parser in-game. That's something that we don't need for the majority of the game and solves very little issues with very specific content.

Are things getting killed in a good time during your rotations? Are you able to clear content?
That's the important thing. The number part is honestly just so you can feel better with yourself. And not everyone uses rotations from people that use parse, some people use rotations that they figured out. And I respect that and I want them to be able to keep doing that honestly. THey have fun with it and so do I.

well that purely depends on the raid groups rules and what they want to achieve ^^ , just because someone isnt using a parser dosnt mean they are idiots who cant play at all ^^

Can people please give me a list of cons for a personal parser (Only you can see your damage numbers) and explain in detail how it can be abused? All I hear is about a public one.

All you hear is about public ones because that was the main topic.
I understand your interest in a personal parser but as I said not everyone needs it as well so you could, potentially, get the third party one and use it at your leisure to optimize. ^^

We already got various levels of douchebagness present, and that's through the laziness/do not care attitude of players on NA/EU servers that don't put in a commendable effort of playing their job correctly, using the pretense "I pay to play my way!" in groups and validate themselves through it.

Why should I bend my back over regarding performance when someone just spams ruin II all day long without anything else, invalidating everything the group was working for? With a official damage meter, for instance, everyone would see the issue and I could grab that player on the scruff and give them a choice, or face the boot.

It might be their 15$, but the other 45/105$ will disagree with them in the end.

Well, what would probably happen is that others will demand people give them their personal parse numbers with varying degrees of punishment for people that refuse to do so. That said, I personally wouldn't mind a personal parser, I'm on PS4 and kinda just have to assume I'm doing alright if the run is going well.

No. I'm starting see party finder groups with things like "have at least purple rank on FFlogs". The DPS obsession is going too far. It is better cut off this from root and block any kind of parser. This is becoming insane. FFlogs is not a official shit. Stop comparing everyone with that garbage web.

I always was like neutral (neutral like "use it but don't fuck it with it). But now I change my mind. Put and end to this. No more parsers, official or not.

If you can tell someone is just spamming Ruin II you can talk to them or remove them right? I mean, if you're able to notice that without a parser then you don't need one. That's the thing. lol

Plus this kind of situation is so rare honestly that I don't see the benefit. :/

This is not a fair comparison. The PotD standings show the top 100 for parties and the top 25 for solo. It does not show you who is 26 solo, or 100 solo, or 3,957,581. In terms of incentivizing play, it encourages, "I want to get into the top rankings." It does not allow, "Look, this loser is only in the top 53 percentile."

The only way for your comparison to be reasonable would be if a parser only said who the top one DD was and gave you no information about the other seven members.
