PvP - Do we really want this kind of thing in Final Fantasy?

Didn't they say something about designated PvP areas on the world map? I would think that potentially people would wander into those areas either to farm for crafting materials or get to locations required for quests. That's all I was thinking when I posted that statement.

Nope, Only PvP would be Frontlines and the Coliseum. They don't want world pvp at all.
Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

You said it yourself. They're designated for PvP. Why would your quests take you there? Unless it's a tutorial quest, of course.

You never know. I just don't want it to turn out like WoW did when I played on a PvP server. Getting randomly ganked by a high-level when I was skinning mobs.

I don't know why, but I remember hearing otherwise. I don't care for PvP which I why I don't care to paraphrase more than that. :/

Yoshida himself acknowledged that most FF players are not big fans of PvP and therefore he would never enforce PvP onto anybody. Moreover, the current PvP arenas aren't even players ganking players, it's players trying to do something to win against other players.

I'm not a hardcore PvPer but I see nothing wrong with it as it is always a good to take a break from scripted PvE fights. PvP is one part of a MMO where it really requires you to constantly think about your actions in battle since nobody is the same.

Also FF games should always be mainly focused for PvE but having the option for some great PvE encounters is always welcomed with open arms in my opnion.

I remember reading in one interview that Yoshi had an idea for special a "PvP-zone". Where upon entering you were automatically flagged for PvP and the vision was that Linkshells would need to work together and protect their gatherers who would gather in these open-PvP areas for PvP related materias.

I'd just like to say that for all of the people who don't care for PvP: Don't do it then. Yoshi isn't going to force it on you so there is no need to whine about it, it won't even affect you in the least. You don't want it, we get that. Some of us do want it so stop clogging up all the PvP posts with whines.

I'm running out of cheese to give you.
