Parsers and Problems

People saying DPS and rotations are overrated. Oh, save me...

Actually a parser will help you do just that, it won't, however, do the job for you. It's not necessary, but how can you say that more data isn't helpful? Now, that point quoted would be accurate if the parser just interpretive danced at you, but it gives you numbers as you go along in an encounter and shows where you may be slumping or spiking or doing consistent/inconsistent DPS.

I have met SO MANY people who do(or most likely do) think they are following a perfect rotation, that they are pushing the best numbers they possibly can. But they are not. You know what the main problem with that is? THEY HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW! They are doing something, they think it's the best they can do, and they have no way to see that it is NOT!
They might follow a "perfect rotation" suggested on a 3rd party site, but if they can't perfect follow it, they should change it, but they don't see the issue. For example take DRG, depending on your Skill Speed there are 2 different rotations that yield optimal results, and this is even more influenced by your actual skill! How are you supposed to know you should change the rotation to suit YOU, if you can't see any numbers?!

I don't give a crap about not having it in DF but an option for preformed parties would be extremely helpful. Personal parser for target dummies is only part of the solution. Seeing a breakdown of an actual fight and being able to collaborate with team mates is an invaluable tool. Leave it out of DF sure, I mean nothing in DF has an actual dps check of any consequence at this point. I also don't care how randoms in my group are doing as long as we finish.

We don't need a personnal dummy dps tracker. Players who haven't any interest to learn a rotation will not waste theirs time going there.

A raid parser will show how is going the dps, healing and damage mitigation. Parser is knowledge.
Once you know your rotation is not going well, you have two options, learn or pray for help to finish content.

Parsers let good partys via PF don't disband because 1 player is underperforming. Bismark is the more recent content where bad dps could ruin a good group. Friends or party members, in this case, they'd recommend him a good rotation, don't spam one ability, use dots, etc.

All of us search diversion and fun encounters. Some players argue "i play as i want", "create your own elitist group", "my dps is Gud, you are the bad". We are working together to clear a content, why are you wasting our time? Our time is the same. If you want fun with zero improvement or spamming one ability, just create your own party. Oh...wait, if you put in a clear party 4 dps underperforming, tanks losing aggro and healers spamming aoe heals when not needed. Do you gonna clear the content?

No, then why do you want be the carried guy?

They're so fun to read for exactly that reason above.

imo IF they make a DF parser it should be only in content with tight DPS checks and only if you aren't meeting those checks by a significant margin multiple times in a row and even then only as a suggestion/prompt requiring the team to vote on it with majority rules.

Well in a way they are needed due to console users. Adding an official parser will put both PC and Console users on the same level. For rotation you can, upto a point calculate optimal rotations by adding up the potency. Albeit when you factor in gear optimisation then it changes. Thing is players that underperform have the conseption they are doing fine as they basically get carried through content. A parser would give absolute proof they aren't.

Also with an official parser, due to discrepencies between the unofficial ones it would be nice to have an accurate comparison.

Meh, if SE were to add an ingame parser, they should just allow it in all content. Why? People who want to parse all content will continue to do so anyway with 3rd party apps if the ingame one has such artificial limitations, so there is no point at all. Even with an ingame parser, harassing people for low performance would still get you penalized, nothing would change in that aspect. Besides, knowing how SE does these things, the current 3rd party ones would undoubtly beat an ingame one because of how much they show, I doubt ingame one would show so much.

Instead of parsers have some new class quests with tight DPS checks.
- some dummy fight
- DPS while dodging AoEs and/or do other mechanics
- AoE DPS

As reward have new titles and glamor.
