RMT Out of hand

You get rid of the people buying gil, how much you want to bet that RMT's will stop, and move to another game, they're here because people keep buying crap from them, not for they're health, in-game currency selling is a multi billion dollar industry, that means of course that people use they're services.

This is the only game I have paid for that has had sooooooo many RMT's. I've played many MMO's that I have paid to play, but none even come close to the amount of RMT's that this game appearently has. This stuff is ridiculous, and is just getting frustrating. Please for the love of everything, please Square Enix do SOMETHING. Doubt any of this will actually help or prevent RMT's from doing they're thing, but log-in server is down and I cant log-in so I am bored...

just log in the game, /busy and the problem is solved. Wish they would start banning people for spamming you with free company invites tho. I can tolerate the rmt but not the other bs.

There needs to be an easy to reach "report bot" and "report RMT" button. Right now you have to go through this cumbersome process of manually writing down the names and locations and times, which isn't made any easier by the fact that a lot of these characters have nonsensical adhfhsf names.

Busy also prevents people from sending you tells if I recall. Which means if you're trying to contact a friend and they set themselves to a Busy status then good luck with that. I've had people also send me a /tell just because they wanted to thank me for helping them, or just because they like my attire. Setting yourself to Busy to block RMT messages or unwanted friend requests should not be the answer here.

anyhow, the game has been out for over a year. and there hasn't been even the slightest or noticeable drop in RMT activity. SE takes action only once per week. even when you do a manual report, the bot is still there for the next some odd days. action once per week is simply inadequate. every bot they ban comes back within the next day or two. so that leaves them like 5+ days to do whatever. and they don't even have to always start from scratch. they can prepare more bots in the background that won't get banned yet. all-in-all, at the current rate of things... RMT activity will never see any decrease.

They won't remove bots, they use them to trace the root accounts and ban those. It's like trying to kill a bot net by killing the individual bots, you need the command and control system, not the drones.

i can understand that, but still... only doing something once per week will never have a significant impact on the situation, if any at all. and in the last year+ there has been absolutely no sign of change in either RMT activity or the actions taken by SE. don't get me wrong, though. i am still grateful for the chat-spam filters.
