For me, it takes less than a minute to search and run to a retainer. I don't think it's that time-consuming. However, I did say in my previous post that I could reason with the people that think the system is slow to have buying from the menu, at a tax. I think that's fair. But if they never implement something like that, I wouldn't cry over it. It's not that much time.

In all seriousness though, SE needs to stop listening to the current player-base since there is next to none. This is going to bite them. They can cater to all the people here as much as they like but the subs will never get bigger that way. They can try to find a way to cater to all the people that left but I think it will end up being a mash-up of wannabe FFXI and WoW. They need a new vision at this point and stop listening to everyone. People have a great idea of what they want but not what they need and it ends up being a mess.

I think I've explained this at least 40 times in the last month.

Rendering the retainers brought us these inconveniences and problems with MW:

Crashing
Zones and zoning
Penalties for selling in the wrong ward
Inconsistent organization with retainers and wards
Awkward and limited searches
Frustration

Here's a list of things that can't be done with a MW system that doesn't have rendered retainers:

When was the last time you had the wards crash on you? It has been months for me.
The zones are not that bad. I can see why people could get mildly irritated, but it's really not that long.
They wanted to encourage people to sell in the correct ward for the majority of items they want to sell. I agree they need to increase capacity, but you know the tax for selling in the wrong ward is barely a factor. It's miniscule and we need more gil sinks anyway.
I'm not sure about the searches. I think they need to do more in the way of buying and selling searches, but other than that what is the problem? At least we CAN search now, unlike previously.
And I'm sorry that you're frustrated.

What's sad is that the crashes actually helped keep the wards from sitting at max capacity. Now we're forced to sell things in the wrong ward by design. 'Cause that totally makes sense, right?

The market wards work if you use them. I do, on a SLOW server and I make plenty of money and can find anything I want.

Oh wait, maybe the reason I don't have any problems with the MW's is i am on a SLOW server...

You're absolutely right. It isn't flawed. There's nothing wrong with it. Market wards are convenient, searching for items and then running to individual NPCs is fast and efficient, they never crash, and everything I do in this game is streamlined and intuitive. No wonder everyone seems to be in favor of them and the game received such overwhelming positive feedback. Man I can't wait to get home and log in to experience all the wonderful content in XIV. Eorzea is fun to explore and totally immersive.

Now that I've used up all my sarcasm for one post I'll say this and I'll try to make it as clear as possible:

HAVING TO RUN TO DIFFERENT WARDS TO BUY EACH AND EVERY ITEM FROM INDIVIDUAL NPCS IS INCONVENIENT AND TEDIOUS. BECAUSE OF THIS THE MARKET WARDS ARE FLAWED. In fact I would say very flawed. You know what? Maybe that statement about Auction Houses that you pulled out of your ass is correct and they were flawed at first, but you know what else? That shit works now. It works in every single game that it's in and it would sure as hell work in this one whether you agree with me or not. I don't care if you have to bid for items, I don't care if you can buy them directly and I don't care if the prices are hidden or not like in FFXI. I just want to run to ONE spot, open a window, and be able to buy and sell EVERYTHING from that one spot. You can call it a Market Ward, an Auction House, a Market House, fuck it. I just want the obstacle that's in between me and buying new gear to be as swift and easy as possible so that I can get back out and fight the pantheon of fiends that threaten the world which do not yet exist in this game.
