I dunno, I've done a lot of CM speedruns through Duty Finder and I still can manage to not be a jerk. If someone's doing something wrong, politely tell them what they should be doing instead, don't whine and ostracize.

Rude players in the DF are a thousand times more annoying than first-timers.

Honestly? I know this will get bites, but a legacy server is probably your safest bet. A fair proportion of players will be from v1 where, to be perfectly frank, we didn't have this crap.

People need to understand that a story dungeon and the easiest method to farm tomes for endgame gear are one in the same place. Deal with it. You can rewatch your cutscenes later in your inn room. People are trying to get things done and when you have to farm the place 200-300 times to gear all your jobs(I have 6 50's personally and only two of them share a darklight set) it's super super annoying to be forced to conform to that one new players wishes to sit there and watch the cutscenes so his first time is "special". No thanks. Be willing to skip the CS's and rush through or dont DF the place. Get 7 of your buddies together and take it nice and slow if you want. But 1 newbie trying to get 7 other people to wait for them is selfish. And then complaining to them about it when they get locked out of bosses? Get real.

I've never seen a single person who wanted to watch the cutscenes talk down, harass or insult a speed-runner.
The opposite, on the other hand, I've seen quite a lot.

CM is not endgame. If your standards are low enough to DF a group for CM then you should not expect a speed run. Just sayin'.

Its toxic because these dungeon spams (while many are still learning them) turns people impatient. Doing these things over and over will turn you insane!

I had a Pld in Castrum who pulled a ton of mobs ran far away then died. Blamed me and the other healer for not healing him cuz he hit sprint and ran with the mobs. His version of payback was going into the last boss before everyone then locking 7 of us out of it while he kited it back and forth for 45mins. Since then I stopped running castrum and just run wanderer's palace and ak.

One of the reasons I stopped doing PvE with my relic and GC questlines at AK was because I knew that, as a tank, I would be sh*t upon repeatedly by groups for not knowing the fights or having done it 100 times before (I hit 50 a couple weeks after the main rush, while everyone had been grinding to gear up for a while).

Since then I've leveled all my crafting classes to 50, but still don't want to join an AK group as a newbie tank. I'll probably level and gear a DPS class just so I can advance those quests.

Im pretty new to most of the dungeon fights. Last night I did get a slight understanding of the frustration. We had 2 or 3 of the 4 new in the group, me being one, and after spending over an hour in Cutters Cry, I think it was, we failed at the end :( What a waste of time, well not an entire waste as I got some gear and experience. I can now see why some might be alittle frustrated, but the group I was in was rather patient. I haven't experienced anyone rude yet though, even on my first Ifrit fight where I died like 6 times.
Im not sure what will happen when they initiate the vote to kick option. I always hated getting an invite to a party in FFXI and then being kicked for no reason or not told why atleast. Might get even worse. I guess there will always be the type of players that don't have time for cut scenes and noobies, but isn't playing with different people with different skills and from different parts of the world and backgrounds part of what makes an MMO"RPG" cool and fun?
