That reminds me, I think it was this Monday. I queue up as DRG for level 50 roulette and I get Sastasha HM. So, the tank was doing small pulls at first, but healer and the two of us DPS went ahead looking for more. The tank started to follow us. So, the guys was 1k of HP ahead of me but I didn't check his gear. We get to the first boss and both the BRD and myself go ham.Quote:

Checking our emnity bars, I see I'm first and the bard is second, then a good chunk after is the PLD. Well, maybe he lagged or something or did a very bad opener. Out of curiosity, I check his gear: Ilvl 36 weapon, Ilvl 38ish accs, few level 50 pieces. I advice the tank to get better gear, even buying it from NPCs. The BRD gives him a couple of ideas and so the healer, how he can improve his ilvl. The tank decides by himself that he should leave so we could get a better tank. I must admit, that made me feel guilty, but he was right.
Since I main tank, I decide to leave the instance and re-queue roulette in progress as a tank. I do so but... I GET IN AMDAPOR KEEP NM INSTEAD, in progress!!! So I was honest with them: "Guys, I queued up to help another party but I ended up here. " Well, they also needed my help, so I decided to stay and help them complete the dungeon, since the healer was new and he wanted to clear. The run was smooth, some jokes here and there, we get a clear and everything is gucci.

A long, long time ago, when I was but a wee sproutling THM, I thought to myself, "Let's check out what healing is like!" and took myself to Gridania, and signed up with the Conjurer's Guild. So, of course, it was on CNJ that I first taught myself how to heal, stance-dance, and DPS. And then little CNJ-me became big WHM-me.
And then I grew up and unlocked AST and SCH, which were both approximately 20000 times more fun and complex to play, than WHM. WHM fell by the wayside for me, I kept it geared and levelled, but extremely low-priority.
But, as 3.xx draws to a close and WHM as we know it will be changed forever, I felt... nostalgia. A longing to hearken back to those simple days when I was but a little CNJ, running around the forest floor, learning how to flip on and off a switch. So I brushed the dust off my cane, put on my finest medic gear, and queued up as WHM for Trials Roulette.
Immediately, I'm dumped into Zurvan, which I've only done once before, as a DPS. So, never as a healer. But, that was fine, I can adjust and it didn't seem too stressful for healers.
Guess what? It wasn't! Sure, the MT came close to dying a couple of times and it seemed like the other WHM never cast a single regen, but nobody died in that run and I even managed to throw out some DPS!
BUT, I didn't maximise my DPS as healer because I actually spent time out of Cleric Stance healing, so clearly I'm a worthless piece of shit who should be kicked. -

I said I appreciate players who do try push their DPS up-time. I said I value effort and making mistakes over standing around doing nothing for long periods of time. Obviously, a good healer heals when needed then does damage in their down time.

They overestimated how much time they had, they assumed the other healer would get it (I often see wires get crossed between WHM/ AST), they thought the tank would mitigate with HG/ heal, etc. etc. Clearly they're not very good at timing.Quote:
