Well you close but the issue isn't even duty finder. That is just a tool to create parties and is also a requirement for gaming today. The cold hard truth is people are just becoming less social. We prefer to text over talk on the phone, have hundreds of friends on facebook but never actually hung out with 90% of them, and can't even hold a conversation in public without playing on our smart phones.
Duty Finder isn't spoon feeding anyone because you still have to complete the content. It just make gathering a group together quicker and more efficient. In fact I would dare most people either do end game content in FC/LS or through PF and not DF unless they are in a hurry.
Come to think of it: When EXTREME Trial Roulette arrives, isn't that really going to throw a wrench into the works of dailies?
Or is it never coming?
Truth. Funny thing is 12-15 years ago MMO players were considered the super antisocial elite. When in reality we had to communicate an socialize every second we were online if we wanted to do anything.
Now people rage if you even mention the idea of having to be social in a MULTIPLAYER game. As I've raid before MMOs WoW+ are basically Solo-Player-do-100000-meaningless-quests-to-hit-endgame
But hey at least you got that random NPC some goat horns so he could make glue to finish building his wife a new rocking chair.
I don't understand how having fights require higher character and gear levels equals greater skill?
I can't remember if I ever replied to this thread but I'll just throw this in:
Mechanics in boss battles suck. I truly hate it. Its turned FFXIV into button mashing arcade game.
No thanks.
