This Issue is really frustrating, Just struggling at dungeons right now trying to deal with it. But patience has its limits lol.
I know I'm not the best player but it really sucks when you dodge something and you still get hit , even if the cast bar isn't finished yet and you are already out of the aoe mark :/

Do they expect everyone in this game to have super human response or something?

So you are about 1.25 steps beyond the blue line at the end, but realize that blue line isnt a red line and isnt the edge of the aoe, its about a full step out from that line, this means you just made it out on time based on your screen, so even if we didnt account for the not instant position check you may have been hit no mater your ping. Even if you had hit the position check exactly when it ended, any real latency in your connection and it would be 50/50 on you being out there, you were too slow in moving in this great example.
Now I am not saying it is perfect, as it is not. But really most people who have issues need to step up their game and learn the fight, learn how to have the entire party position so have optimal room to get out and figure out what works for them until we see improvements.

and wow that's a pretty pointless blue line then, any person would think that is the aoe's edge in most occasions :/
They should just remove it then, It just causes confusion for some people.
Anyway I guess I just suck at dodging and Needs more superhuman reaction to respond immediately right after anything is thrown at me.
What's funny is the video on the first post, the person probably went out abit faster than I did but he still got hit by landslide.
So... even if i did get out maybe a second earlier It would still probably hit me. Sad life :/
another thing is these skills that can literally kill you in 1 hit have so short casts its not even funny. Totally not a great match for their 0.3 position update, nope.

The player was a long way out of the AoE and left the AoE at 75%.

I perused the thread on the Accepted Bugs forum, but I didn't see a response from anyone, but it's in that forum and it's locked.

I understand that their crappy servers STILL aren't even ready to accept a full hot steamy load of new players, and this issue goes hand-in-hand with that one, but as a company they can't ignore huge issues like this. Putting it in the Accepted Bugs forum is acknowledging the problem, which is great, but without follow-up (read: a proposed plan or forecast for specific improvements) they're just pissing their clientele off.
Give us a time-frame, SE. You might think that having swollen server populations is success, but it's NOT. You're absolutely not in the clear yet. People are trying the game at this point, and with this broken coding, server structure, etc etc etc... things can get ugly quick.
This game has a ton of potential, don't screw it up now by being closed-mouth with us.
I think a lot of SE's resources are tied up right now getting servers up to par after the huge crap storm that took place at release. An acceptable and realistic timeframe for some feedback on this would be a month, in my opinion.
I'm not saying we should remain silent on the issue, but I think expecting a quick response on an issue like this isn't going to happen.
The laggy servers suck, but we have to be patient.
I have honestly, not had a problem in titan.
People like to blame the game when they screw up.
So with all these obviously clear evidence and even an acknowledgement that it's already an issue by being put in the accepted bugs corner are people's faults because we all screw up?
Did you even read most of the posts in the thread? probably not. Good for you since you don't have this problem. Honestly it doesnt happen to some people,
but if you were the one getting this I doubt you would stay quiet about it too.

Guys, there's a really huge key to dodging Titan. Don't wait until you see his moves to dodge them. They come fairly quickly so you just need to learn his rotation, it's not complex, and act accordingly. If you learn the rotation then you know when the weight of the land's are coming and you know to be moving just before they do.
Well according to people , if you just use a skill right after avoiding those aoe's you wont get hit 100% of the time, because the server instantly recognizes your new position.
Haven't tried it yet but I guess its worth the try :/

Titan has a specific rotation - LEARN it. Memorize it. You can actually break it into seconds between his abilities. 2 seconds before his ability start running. Put sprint on, use movement songs on the bard. It's doable.
I have FC mates who spend 30$ a year on a proxy service that reduced their latency by 50%, and have had huge success with Titan. Look at your internet connection, who's using it, where is the bandwidth going? Maybe upgrade it?

I don't have a problem with titan and my ping isn't all that great. We wipe cause of people undergeared and or cant cure the tank after mountain buster 4khp hit. That's my exp with titan. Its not a hard fight just need to be well organized to pull it off and have darklight gear
One other item. I've noticed on my system that if my sound card bugs out (which it only does in FF14) it runs way slower (usually around 60 fps, turns down to 20). When I unplug my speakers and plug em back in, it's back up to 60.
Will be formatting soon when Windows 8.1 comes out and will test it, but it seems FF14 can work against some hardware.
They didn't screw up. The Game Screws up.
The main reason why many ppl rages like this is because they getting hit by something they shouldn't getting hit with.
Another story if we press our keys, but our character moves around 1 sec later cause of delay and get hit with aoe with our chara inside the range (It's still an issue, but at least the screen doesn't troll us)
DF lag is a big problem on bosses. SE made the bosses flashier than regular play plus the stressed out duty finder servers. be it as a local group or random party everyone still gets some lag because of the instance itself. seeing your character half way across the platform well out of an AOE marker and still getting slammed is a problem SE has yet to fix.
I try and tell people this every time, that his rotation of moves is exactly the same for each phase. If you start moving before WOL shows up on the ground you'll never get hit. People who get hit by landslide just suck...
Again we have people saying that there is no problem because we can move before attacks begin. Of course we can and do, that is not the issue so here it is again:

The issue is that Yoshi told us not to worry, 2.0 would fix the lag. It hasn't yet.
Now maybe you're fine with that, that's ok it's a personal choice. When I make a promise I do my best to honor it.
In my opinion Yoshi and his team tried their best to fix it and failed. It happens to all of us. It would be nice if they just let us know that they can't fix it and everyone can stop wasting their time posting here.

Are you telling us that they designed these bosses like this? where we need to actually predict every skill he will cast and move even before he does it?
If that's a true intended gameplay mechanic then that is pretty retarded. Whoever came up with it should feel bad.
I'm pretty sure memorizing patterns help, of course they do with no doubt. No one is saying that it doesnt help. What if I told you I have the bosses pattern memorized,
try to get out of the aoe but still get hit? Oh, these people are probably gonna tell me its my internet and I need an upgrade.

Like previous poster said System requirements did not state that we need a vpn service to actually properly play the game without these issues :/
I got stuck on normal Titan because of a lot of bad and some lag. After a bit I started messing around and found that it is possible to run into his ability before he is done casting and not get hit by it while people outside of the ability path get hit by it.
It isn't just Titan that does this but its very obvious since you die when you get hit. The dragon in the goblin instance was hitting me the other night while I was way out of ability range and my entire party saw that I wasn't in it but still getting hit.

I've experienced this awful latency as well on Titan HM, and I knew the pattern.
On a side note: Does anyone feel like more of these Boss encounters are becoming a glorified version of Dance Dance Revolution? :( Left, Right, Up, Down, Up, Up, Down, etc. It just feels like we're learning Dance Moves instead of really battling exciting Bosses and saving Eorzea.
I want to know if they intend to fix it or are they just gonna stay with the copy paste 1.0 server code and its problems and pretend its the players fault.
constantly running wont work for casters. they have to stop and cast. that is not a solution.
Yeah, pretty much this~ It's like the people who d/c while playing then log on and blame it on the servers.. when everyone else is connected just fine. But don't tell them it might be their ISP, they'll s**t a brick and throw a fit. Threads like these are just bad players playing bad. The thing is though, SE will cater to them and they will nerf Titan, then they'll start complaining about how hard stuff hits in the coil, or start complaining that you need to stack specific jobs in coil turn 4, it will never end.

Also, to all the players claiming Yoshi acknowledges this problem, what do you expect him to say? "You guys just suck."... Of course he's not going to outright say that.. He's going to spoon feed you the answers you want, it's bad business practices to do anything else. But fear not, I'm sure the next patch will probably double the charge time for Weight of the Land so you guys can all make your way to the coil, only to wipe on the very first ADS and return to the forums demanding a nerf.
screwing up is having the attack happen when you are standing within the marked area. being way WAY WAY out of it and still being hit (not just barely out) is a problem not with the player but the way the game is working for the players.
this is not about DC'ing its about the duty finder servers lagging bad enough that the only indication you have to react to is happening too late to react to in time with the game server. the graphics telling you to move are not in synch on the players screen and the game server. you move when prompted to yet the server has already decided you didn't.
being on a 25mb/sec connection I'm confident my ISP is not the issue especially when the only time I get lag at all is when in instances through duty finder.
Most of the people here saying they don't have issues play DD characters as mains. They don't realize the problem mainly resolves in healers/blm/sch/smn because their casting times.
Things that work or have been working:
Melee/upclose party (don't have a video yet. Tested it and it works with a smart party who can move fast close together) : everyone can stack behind titan so all the plumes overlap into 1. Easier to dodge just strife left or right.

Do not cast a long cast spell between landslide and plume stages. Use Swiftcast if needed.
Don't cast anything if plumes show up under you. Instead move outside and cast something even if you interrupt it. (Been said a few times here)
I hope this helps out a little bit. SE knows there are still issues with Titan Hard and server sync. Friends of mine have sent tickets in and got basic replies that they are working on it.
People saying that these people just "suck." Didn't play beta to even know this issue has been going on since then. It kind of reminds me of Ifrit extreme in 1.0 but they never fixed that.
I too have not had a problem with any of the "tells". but frmo watching the video links in the OP, they definately get out in time. so it seems to me that they may have either an slow internet or graphics are set to high and their PC/PS3( can graphics be toned down on PS3? idk) is lagging.
Infact i can run out and as soon as the "tell" disappears i run back in, the animation hasn't even gone off yet but i don't get hit.

the game is optimized but they seem to have forgotten that when doing the boss fights. they opted for showier graphics on the ground tells and usually the chamber the boss is in has far more pixels to load than the regular game so it automatically creates graphics lag for a portion of the players add to that DF also has its own lag between the players and the servers and you can have some pretty delayed tells.

Theres a limit to being ignorant, You don't undersand the main issue here do you? It's not just Titan it happens on every monster on this game that has aoe skills.
So you honestly think that all of us are that "bad" that we cant even dodge normal mobs aoe's properly? Most normal mob aoe's I can get out of easily,
but I'm quite sure many people are having trouble with them. You don't see me calling them bad or they suck because I know there is a problem with the server.

are you kidding me? I've played tons of games with different kinds of AOE mechanics and have never encountered an Issue like this.
I've been using the same ISP for it.
