Q9: Are there any plans to add female Roegadyn and male Miqo'te?

A: Well, the character model designs are finished... But further details regarding their implementation have yet to be decided.

This is from the 2nd link: Eorzeapedia: There is a growing group in the community who would like to see the implementation of Male Miqo’te and Female Roegadyn in FINAL FANTASY XIV. Are there plans to make these yet to be seen gender and race combination playable? If not, what made you decide not to work them into FINAL FANTASY XIV.

Tanaka: Actually all of the design is ready, so we were planning to implement them into the game, however during the development process we had to put priority with what to put into the game, and due to the man power issue we had to give up implementing them into the beginning of the game. You will see them as an NPC, but it is not a race that you can choose at the beginning. We’ll see how it goes in the future, it might be a possiblity. We are still looking into it.

Looking for more interviews where they talk about race will post them as i find them.

I mean no offense but its dumb especially for places like Core who do not allow linking to other sites but allow for people to post information obtained by those sites without sourcing.

Yeah im trying to locate the actual interveiws but they are only poppin up on fan sites.

Whole heartedly support this often asked request. I was really surprised we did not have those options at launch since it was something many in FFXI wanted.

If we can't have them for player characters then at least start adding them in the world please and also to have them as retainers would rock.

I definitely would start over, no questions asked. lol

It would be kind of sad to lose my progress... but oh well. It wouldn't be anything too difficult to get back.

I vote for male miqote too, but only if they got real muscles like the ones in the breath of fire series. :D (or at least a subrace of them that's more like the miqote version of highlanders)

I think male miqo'te would look more like regular humes... maybe even a little more dainty. Female miqo'te are smaller than female humes, so it would be appropriate for the males to be a little smaller than male humes. As far as I know, male miqo'te are a little weaker and demure in XI. Considering FFXIV isn't directly connected to XIV, maybe we'll be surprised.

They can't ignore this thread, considering it has over 200 replies... and I think that's the minimum for a dev response.

I find it highly unlikely they would ever even consider this considering the amount of work that would need to be done.

They have more important game play issues then adding stuff like this.

+1 for this idea! Also please add much more customization... 8 hairstyles is too little! I want to be able to customize body too, short Elzen, fat Hume... etc

Currently Twitter has 20 registered Naoki Yoshida's I even sent a tweet to @tanakahiromichi / http://twitter.com/#!/tanakahiromichi to see if I could get a response :D

Try reading all of the posts.. If you had you might have noticed some of the interveiws listed where SE stated the models are done . They just didn't have time to implent them / what direction to go with them.

If they add them as NPCs and not playable I'd be totally disappointed honestly. ^^; I wouldn't complain, but I'd be bummed. It might even keep me away from the game for a while. Well, if they add them as NPCs and say they'd add them as playable later, that's different. XD
But if they dangled them in front of us like that without letting us have them, that's harsh. lol

As for what male Miqo'te look like, I don't really mind either way. Scrawny, a lil muscular.. I don't care. Would be cool if they even had the option to choose either. Sometimes I just feel more comfortable playing a male character, but none of the current really feel like they fit me.

This entire thread reminds me of the story of the father with two sons.

I don't see why to object on adding more options or freedom to the game. Yes :) There is no reason why there is only one sex of the race available for play. We need Man cats, female high landers and female roegadyns. If man cats stay home and cook then they can be cooks in game if they like... But we all know there are roegadyn and mi'qote kids/babies and they got to come out of SOMEWHERE! So yes... We need missing genders! After all it is more realistic than everybody being born out of a virgin (or thin air...) :P

Only reason would be because of the lore, but there is no objection to the existence of these genders, so why not? :P I'd even try female Rog for myself, I wonder what they'd look like ^_^

Well, there is not a whole lot of lore yet and they can always add more story to make backup their existence.
