I have a question for the people having this issue, are you all connected Wireless or wired?
Wireless over here. Haven't tried out wired connection but I'll probably end up doing it soon.

Can't find who is the first one, but the second one is a Vodafone Group Services, and yes that's my ISP. So I guess they are throttling FF XIV. Any other from Vodafone with the same problem?
I also have Cox and I'm in Southern California.
I'm having the same lag spikes and rubber banding issue. Never was this bad until last week when the servers was upgraded.
Third night in a row can't do any end-game.
Same issue since Wed. Cox 50mbps/10mbps (get about 45-50 down and 15-20up) in Las Vegas. Game freezes for 2-8 seconds, gets major packet loss and then catches up. Can't do much at 50 because most of the dungeons are dps race / dodge heavy. Pretty saddening.

I am on Cox Communications in the Irvine Area of California and the lag has been unbearable ever since the maintenance last week. Tonight was especially horrid. Massive lag everywhere I went, I couldn't do anything. Game was unplayable.
My lag has gotten so bad now it is absolutely impossible to play, which sucks because I love this game so much. One of the best games I've played. However if this lag keeps up I'll have no choice but to just drop the game as it isn't plausible to play with this insane lag.
Hopefully square enix will sort this out soon, I have been playing a couple other online games in the meantime with no issue so I know its not my end.
Maybe this maintenance will help fix the problem. We can only hope.

having this issue as well, but not on cox or any isp mentioned here, been having this random 90k everyone 5 mins to 30 mins, issue started after they added more servers on the first September maintenance, had the tech guy from my ISP come out to check everything, even tried 7 different VPNs, none helped, it only got worse after second and 3rd SE maintenance, I am 100% sure this is NOT our ISP issue.
so SE... please at least let us know you are looking to resolve this? I know we are not the majority of your player base, but enough is enough, this silence from you guys is really disturbing way of handling customers.
Today still suffering from severe lag. Everybody pausing for a few seconds then shooting forward. Been like this for days now. Also didnt have this problem in the betas or when the game released. Unplayable except for crafting. :(

Noticed this when I came back from being out of town yesterday - but was working find during the week.
Everything will pause for 1-2 second then catch back up. Happens intermittently but very frequently - every 30sec-2min

Lots of lag on my end too. Irritating in a game where the main gimmick seems to be 'don't stand in the red spot' -_- wish it's detection was client-side instead of server-side.

Just a little something I tested today based on a post in here:
Whenever I'm in game, my VOIP clients lag and I get a ton of packet loss. Whenever I'm off the game I get none of those symptoms whatsoever. Not sure if it's saturating the network like other people said but this has happened explicitly after the latest update.
Was playing on a JP server, zero lag and zero freezes. SE can't claim it's a user-side issue. Maybe we should all migrate to a JP server until they fix the EU/NA ones. I know, I know, "why ruin with their fun?", you may ask. Well, I paid to play the game and I can't play unless I play on a JP server. Sadly.

Currently impossible for me to play AT ALL. Getting so much lag that the game freezes about every 10-20 seconds or less at times, for periods ranging from 5-15 seconds. I was trying to do my level 45 BLM quest but keep getting tons of mobs due to not being able to touch fissures more than a little before my time is up. And then I spend 10 minutes running in circles to avoid AoE's cause every time lag stops, mobs appear in front of me and start casting. Also, this started happening mainly today. Been offline several times today and logged back in, etc, but it's just gotten worse and worse.
Firstly, I want to start off saying i've had little issues regarding latency and lag, if any at all since early access. However, from about 17:00 GMT 18th September the issues have been increasing, and is now at the point where it is literally impossible to do dungeons, let alone Titan HM. Everything in the game freezes for a few seconds, then "skips". Meaning people teleport all over the place, abilities on bosses (titan hm, Landslide, plumes) have no cast time and just HAPPEN. Obviously, this is becoming highly frustrating to me and others that have reported this since it just makes doing anything in this game pointless. As others have stated, i've tried re-starting the game, rebooting the router, exiting and re entering, everything. Its only the game that has latency or lag, everything else on my network/internet is normal. At first the skipping wasn't really anything to sniff at, but throughout the night it's started "skipping" more and more frequently and sometimes for longer periods, again, making it even more infuriating and anger inducing since there is literally nothing we can do about it. It seriously needs looking into. It also only seems to be affecting certain people. A friend of mine who lives more or less 1 street away has no issues whatsoever, whereas there's people on my friends list in sweden and NA and getting the same problems.
The game is just unplayable at this moment, during peak times I have constant 2-3 seconds lag spikes.
It's also the only game I ever had connection problems with.
I've ran checks on my computer and it just seems to be the servers, to be sure I will call my ISP and let them trace it as well.
It's a shame though, I like my FC and the game in general but it's just unplayable.
just started having the same issues described here, never had any lag at all up till now. things have been buggy ever since the last patch was updated and now instance dungeons like AK and Cast M are having moments of pause where everythings stops moving (except me) then resumes moments later or I pause and move in the same position I was in while casting. This is a very bad thing for heals as we have to react to things that happened after the pause has resumed some of which can be wipe worthy.
I hope this issue is addressed or something as its pretty much hindered my ability to proceed past HM Titan and to BCOB and my relic
So i've been experiencing the exact same issue that all of you have described, with clear packet loss and the rubber banding occurring. The game is unplayable in it's current state, and we have not received a reply from square-enix despite this thread being over 3 weeks old. My ISP is Verizon FIOS, and I am in the Eastern Maryland/D.C. area. I have a 75 Mbps download speed, and 35 Mbps Upload speed. There are no issues with any other game. Fix it, or forfeit my sub.
Just logged out of the game mid AK because the lag was unbearable. Hopefully maintenance tomorrow fixes this although I'm not going to hold my breath.
