I'm a bit concerned that SE didn't anticipate the amount of people that would be playing this. Issues like this could severely affect the games potential lifespan if the issues still exist on the true release day of the 27th. I certainly hope that they are fixed before that time, I would hate to see people who didn't pre-order bring games back cuz that can't even log in.
So I shall leave it to one of my anti-heroes to say with much more effect than I can, Dear Squeenix, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p73PZIDQuA
Their queueing process sucks tho. It must have a max # of chars it can handle, because if you are LUCKY you might get in the queue, but most of the time you just get the ridiculous 'world is full' error and have to keep trying and trying. That is, like others have mentioned, the HEIGHT OF STUPIDITY. Get a clue, SE, create a decent queueing process.
They haven't paid for anything, especially if its from amazon, gamestop, or whatever. the only people that might have a problem getting a refund is the people that digital ordered or the people that went the the psn store. So again I repeat leave, I would rather tell you this now then have these complainers make the life a constant complaint fest for the years to come ingame. and no launch is the 27th so til then the game is not launched so expect more problems, lots more by the look of it. It will be a trial on patients and I look forward to those that make it and persevere. If you make it to launch then either you'll be dedicated to this game which means I'll want to play with these type of players either that or your just a dedicated troll best served somewhere else.
guessing some of you guys missed the live letters... Yoshida-san stated many times that he wanted those of us with early access to consider this our launch date. Basically, they were working under the idea that 8/24 was like a private launch, with 8/27 being the public one.
And don't pull that "we aren't paying anything" crap. WE BOUGHT THE GAME, AND WE WERE GIVEN A LAUNCH DATE FOR PLAYING. It's the same as those that didn't pre-order. WE ALL GET 30 DAYS FREE. So, technically, even those joining post early access are under the same payment scheme as us. Thus, it is no different. SE KNEW this was a launch date---their producer even encouraged that view from the playerbase. They KNEW how many would potentially be getting on at EA launch--this could be tracked easily between license sales and registrations.
All this adds up to make this entire situation unacceptable...pure and simple. They made promises, encouraged participation, and in spite of being given ample advanced notice of what was expected of them....someone somewhere simple failed to deliver. Whether that is SE, Ormuco, or EIDOS employees at fault--SE needs to get to the bottom of it and get someone to FIX it.... YESTERDAY.
I have nothing to add except my name and that I, too, haven't been able to log in for 10 hours now. Get it together.
I ordered from SE, a physical copy, and it was shipped out days before the early access start date, bud. I paid, and many people here ordered games AGAIN even though they owned 1.0 for the EARLY ACCESS.
Ok so first:You don't know us so you don't know if we will leave after a wipe.
Second:This is early access so this is a legitimate launch for pre order players. This is NOT beta anymore.
Third:You NEED to pay to play Early Access so YOU also paid. We all have money on the line here.
So please, shut it.
You probably are one of those guys that stayed in Final Fantasy 14 One that said "It's ok guys, don't worry, it will get better". The real issue here is that we CANNOT get in game because of congestion. We NEED more servers and Free server transfers. If not launch will be a big disappointment for beta players. New players can just make new characters in other servers. Some players will just get in game, be afk, take up space and do nothing while others actually try to ge active and get in. If we do not get new servers and the transfers, people will continue to create new characters and so on and so on. Filling up every server. The problem won't stop. The reason WHY we complain is because WE like the game. we want to make it better.
Also, these are all beta problems, you shouldn't have launched the game with the same problems from beta. Maybe some new ones, but not the SAME ones.
What is going to suck is that tomorrow when everyone goes back to work, school begins for the new semester and no one tries to log in they are going to be left with a "Look it is working fine!" problem. LOL
It may never get fixed until next weekend after the official launch when the problem shows up again. :P
Have to correct this mis-statement. Gamestop charged my American Express the very night I ordered the digital version, right when they sent me my code and link to get their download/install manager. So, yeah, I paid for this nearly a MONTH AGO.
As for the rest about launch date and such.. read my previous post. In Yoshida-sans eyes, 8/24 WAS the launch date.
there is the possibility of having a crowd AFK afraid to log out and not come back? Why not a restart of the server?
/still waiting...
This is a truly ignorant post. A large percentage of people have already been billed for the game and there is zero question that EA was supposed to be the live launch for those that paid in advance. If this keeps up much longer, you may get your wish and you are playing the game with about 20 other people before they close down the servers for good in a few months. And the idea that people should suffer through horrible customer service and nonsensical IT issues to prove some sort of dedication shows that you are merely a puppet and lack the ability to think critically. The only thing that suffering through till launch will show is that the players are too stupid to stand up for themselves and that SE can put nearly zero effort into game problems in the future. Putz.
I've been stuck with this error all day since 3pm EST
I just played straight for hours and hours since the Goblin server came up after the last maintenance... had a great time!!! .... and my game just crashed to desktop... now I'm stuck here with you guys scratching at the door begging to get in. Maybe it's time for dinner and a shower...
Same issue here. I managed to get on after trying for a while, it put me 64th in queue and logged me in under 3 minutes of joining the queue. I then played the game for all about 5 minutes and crashed when I opened up my social panel to accept my friends request to add me to his contacts. It then ment I had to go back to retrying the server over and over as there is no other means to know when I can try to queue or otherwise.
It wouldn't have bothered me, but I spent 8 hours trying to join the server to make my character last night. Now I have spent nearly 3 hours today just trying to play on my character. I have had nearly no play time and have only wasted my time.
Hyperion server.
Seriously instead a flaming AFK system i want on right now to level up my lancer to 15 but nooo have to ruiin my damn day well doen lame SE >.<
I lost connection to the server around 1:30PM PST, and haven't been able to get back on since then. After all the attempts I've made I was only placed in a que once (position 268), and after 5 minutes a window came up saying the server is full and promptly placed me back at the main menu.
I've had all of the above listed errors all day long the only progress I make is to run into a new error WT* is going on SE!?!? my bro has been online all day and we're on the same network
Having the same errors.
Name Kirito Kun
Server Hyperion
*fingers crossed* :D
The sheer amount of circlejerk "I'm mad and want people to reaffirm my entitlement to be mad!" is amazing. You are a group of people that have the fortune of a MMO launch gone awry (as they all do) being a major concern in your world. Relax, go find something else to do for awhile and stop acting like you were given some personal slight. You pre-ordered something and it didn't show up when you wanted exactly as you wanted. Get over it. That's the risk of pre-ordering ANYTHING. First world problems. I swear.
If many ppls log in is that mean SE get a lot of money? wanna use it for better server?:p
Your ruined my f****** final fantasy
Ok, so it's 10am Monday in Japan right now, right? I hope they give us some new information before noon. I also hope they are not considering this 1017 thing an acceptable fix going into official launch. New players logging into 1017 will not go over well with the international media. It would be awful for this game to get a bad rap for these technical short falls.
I guess in a way, they are fortunate they did do such a good job with the actual game; which is also the reason for all the difficulties too. Let's face it, as much as we all belly ache, no one is going to cancel a sub over this, because it will only deny permanently what we are all craving. I think they know this, so they are probably seeing all this as 'good' problems. Meaning the international response was far greater than they anticipated.
On the other hand, I do believe some form of compensation for all this non performance for EA is required. Many 1.0 players bought a new copy of the game only for this perk of Early access and now it is being denied due to a problem they feasibly could have foreseen.
I feel your frustration. I tried logging in this afternoon around 1pm, I tried for 45 minutes before being able to get online, while waiting to get online I was put "in queue" but promptly kicked from it, nothing like waiting your turn in line only to be kicked out and told "Go back and try again because we can't even make a successful queue counter." After finally getting into the server I was able to play for about 90 minutes only to be kicked by a "connection to server lost" error. My buddy has been playing for several hours with no issues and disconnections, I haven't been able to get back in since and I'm pretty irritated with the "we're sorry" comments. How is it fair for people to keep trying to connect but some people have been able to play for several hours with no issues, why not kick the guys who've been on for several hours to make space for those who haven't even had a chance to play yet, or have been waiting for a chance to play again for 6+ hours :| I get it, your servers are unable to maintain the # of people who want to play. It would be awesome if for once when players paid for something the company offering the service was prepared, this isn't the first mmo ever made, but I guess humanity is doomed to repeat itself right?
They have to realize that some sort of AFK kick feature would help the problem. They have to.
I shouldn't be upset about anything at all using that logic.
The sheer amount of stupidity on these forums is the amazing thing.
This game was advertised as being ready to play for those who wanted to pay early. So far, the advertisement was deceptive.
Trying to pass of complaints as first world problems is becoming a stupid cliche.
Seriously Square? Almost EVERY MMO out there only has TWO to FIVE servers to choose from and they almost NEVER have this constantly full problem.
I can't believe of your near, like, 40 servers that they are ALL over filled?? Are you kidding me? I'm not joking, if I have to spend 45 minutes-4 hours trying to get into your game
after the true launch on the 27th you won't see another fucking dime of my money.
There are message boards and proper places to bitch about Syria. Syria doesn't belong in this thread. Just because you don't ALWAYS talk about something doesn't mean you aren't aware or don't care. Don't try to pass yourself off as a saint.
I'm not remotely upset that I can't play (it's certainly not the first time this sort of thing has happened) but the slow communication and the removal of queues is what bothers me the most. If we're not kept up to date, and we can't queue, our only option is to spend all our time repeatedly trying to log in, or give up trying to play altogether. It sort of makes it feel like we're being taken advantage of (since we're already fans) and like our time isn't respected. Yes, we've all pre-ordered, but I'd prefer to feel like SE is still trying to sell us on the game by providing good customer service. No matter how severe a problem is, good customer service alleviates a huge portion of the resulting angst, but even a small problem can rub a player-base the wrong way if customer service is handled badly.
The reason that we pre ordered it was to get into the early access. And WE are not "accessing" anything.
Is that hard to make a queue to the players. That will help with the refreshs on the mainscreen.
I already saw this queue before, but i thing it´s bugged.
I payed for the game for this? REALLY?
No, it wouldn't--not even a little bit. The servers aren't overloaded because of people standing auto-afk, they're "overloaded" because one component of the back-end matchmaking system cannot handle the number of requests it's getting. They have capped the max number of users online to prevent people from hammering this server. FFXI didn't kick AFKers and FFXIV won't either--stop barking up this tree, it's been discussed to death. Squeenix over-sold this game and they can't get more servers online fast enough to cope with demand. They are capping logins to buy themselves time while we all sit here miserable and angry trying in vain to log in over and over. What a @^#!-up, whoever planned out their server hardware needs a good solid kick out the front door for this, especially since beta had the exact same goddamn issues.
Leviathan people please log off and allow other players have chances to play .... dont be greedy or rude and afk in town
They payed for the game, they have a right to play it how they want, it's not greedy or rude to AFK in town, it's a right they payed for. It's square's fault for over-selling the game given the amount of server hardware they had available.
