Personally I don't believe there is close to enough latino/hispanic players in game (those whose their first/main language is spanish). If you would allow me, I think your argument makes sense from the point of view that current latino/hispanic players that are already playing the game are, of course, playing it using one of the current supported languages. But I believe that, in terms of demographics, the latino/hispanic presence in the community is rather small, and I think the main reason for this is due to the language barrier.
I believe that the idea that Latinamerica is a "low spender" region doesn't stand true anymore. There is a reason why so many games nowadays invest resources into translating their games into spanish, not only for in-game assets (UI, dialogs, voicelines) but also promotional media and I don't believe that they would do this just for, lets say, inclusivity or cultural representation purposes, but rather because these companies know that there is a market in the hispanic/latino community that is worth to explore and invest in. Hispanic/latinos do spend money on videogames at an increased rate, they buy games, pay for sub-based services, spend a lot of money on store/cosmetic stuff, etc. And as with most places around the world, Latinoamerica is filled with people that back in the day played videogames as kids, and nowadays are grown adults with purchase power that are still consuming videogame products.
This is why I believe that you should at least give credit or consider the idea that the reason these players haven't showed interest in FF14 isn't due to economic reasons, but rather due to the language barrier.
In my experience, the main factor that drives a purchase decision for these players is if the game is in spanish. Most of the time these players don't even care too much if the game is expensive or not, as long as the game supports the spanish language, it inmediately enters their radar.
I think SE stands to gain from this but they're too slow to adapt. As I said previously, I think the main reason other companies translate their games into spanish is because they already know there is a market ready to be explored and invested in, but I fear that SE is taking too long to think about it, when other companies have already been making their move, competing over the market in this region and I agree that, the reason they do this, is because money is the main driving factor.
Thanks for the iniciative ♥

I hope this goes forward
+1! This has been something I've thought for a while, and I'm surprised that after over 10 years we still don't have it.
As a native Spanish speaker who just plays in English because I am fluent... I would love to be able to point to this game as yet another good option for my friends who aren't fluent / not as fluent.
It would be wonderful if they gave the option of knowing and enjoying this game to many people who do not know or do not speak well in another language.
Que no decaiga! SE! Listen to the FFXIV Spanish Community!!! Read us!!
There are many ways they could make it possible, we did many options where we could be happy. And we are a lot! I want my wow friends come to play this game! As is way superior...
I can write and read english, but most of the time you miss those little details in a conversation, or is a kind of tired being translating a bunch of dialog one after other.
It's really important to get new audience or to recover some of those that drop the game, because of the big quantity of english text and not understanding really something.
So please, consider Spanish as an official language, you'll see that your community will appreciate it a lot.
Thanks for the great game you guys are building, I am a new Xbox user, starting Stormblood expansion, and I'm really enjoying the story you guys built, and I really want that new people fall in love with these characters, world and story too.
GRACIAS POR LEER! Y PURA VIDA DESDE COSTA RICA! :D
I would like to play with my boyfriend, with my brother and some friends... but they don't speak english :( So I just enjoy alone the game.
I've been a player since ARR and I can't believe that a business like SQUARE ENIX had not considered to approach the game to the spanish community yet... while smaller companies have never forgotten us.
¡¡A METER PRESIÓN!!
final fantasy xvi got released with native spanish language options, they can add them to ff14! expanding serviceable demographics is always worth it
I do not even need voices, with just the text will be fine
Let's bump this, we need to be seen. Let's show them how much we need this ♥
As a brazilian portuguese speaking person, I fully agree with this iniciative!
It's not like fighting for my native language, but it worth neverthless since we have "similiar" languages (or at least, 60% identical basis).
Anyway, I hope they make it real and wish they put even more languages as well (portuguese included!).
Thanks for the effort! :D
As a Spanish and Catalan speaker, there's nothing I'd love more than having Final Fantasy XIV available in second most-spoken language in the world. It's a huge market of players that SE is missing out on.
Si, gracias y por favor! I've been here forever waiting on that spanish dub, heck I'd be willing to be one of the characters or do the translation, hahaha.
Here, have some more support!
Keep it up!
Don't let this thread fall into the Void of the 13th...
Vamos, amigos!
Bump for support! This would be a fantastic addition to the game and the community.
Highly support a Spanish translation! The game has had a robust Spanish-speaking community since 1.0, let’s show some support
It would make it easier to reccomend the game to new players, thanks for the iniciative.
I support this!
Thanks a lot for the awesome support!! :o
Spanish is the most spoken language in the world. It is unfair that games keep overlooking it
Wanted to add my support to this, too. I know translating the text from a full JRPG that is also an MMO is a lot of work, but this would open up the game to many, many more players who wish to experience the world of FFXIV. Please consider this.
We just reached more than 5600 Players in FFXIVESP's Spanish Community!
That means that we're getting over 200 new Spanish players every month :o
Thanks for all the support! We'll keep working for this healthy community, deffending the interests of many and making sure Square-Enix listens to us :)

but now the question is how do you appease both south & central american players and european spanish players? i'm all for a spanish localization, but there's similar issues with french canadians and european french localizations
We encourage a mix of everything, since FFXIV has a lot of different zones!
The new Dawntrail zones could have Spanish/Latino mixes, while Eorzea zones could have different accents of Spanish on different zones such as Limsa, Gridania etc...
In English we have lots of different English styles, so it could fit for Spanish/Latino aswell! Same with voice acting :) we're 100% up for it!
Would love to have XIV in Spanish.
Thank you so much for taking the initiative! I didn't even know there was such a big spanish community, many of my friends won't play the game because it doesn't have a spanish translation :'( Hopefully our voices will be heard! Saludos desde Chile :D!!
Totally! It has been done before too, like Final Fantasy IX, at least in spain the translation has a lot of different accents from all spanish speaking countries!
Ruby for example talks like someone for Argentina, Marcus uses something called "ceceo" wich means he uses the letter Z a lot while speaking, Cinna is more like from Andalucia... etc.
It can totally be possible!
As a fan I love the game, but sometimes I felt I was missing details, and that is a thing that a lot of friends with less english level or any patience for so many hours of intense conversations in english, make them avoid this great game.
Please, at least the text, that would be enough.
