I won without using it.
You can make excuses all day long. It doesn't change that cheaters are lazy. Everyone has to deal with the shotty netcode, so the playing field is even. Cheaters take that away, along with truly taking away your shot to win. Your argument has no weight and indicative of low intellect. Lose my post please.
Honestly, I feel like the rewards are some of the visually worst kinds of things Square Enix has ever brought in the game. I can stomach technowear when thinking about how Garlemald opened up its borders for trade. But those awful looking Fall Guys Merchandise looking clothes are just awful to look at and don't fit the visual aesthetic of the world of FFXIV.
Ah yes, the one instance one uses the commonly accepted issue to shade an opinion.
Cause you can't disagree with what is true, so if the ones replying to you disagree that makes them false, even if the main point of their comment was elsewhere. Men of Straw.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
SE might not be able to do much at all from the net code.
But it does give people reason to do dynamis regardless if the netcode was bad or not.
[Since the achievement isn't even accwide or anything, and unless they have the benefit of a stream and followers. or Days Off Grinded it like life was even shorter.]
(this from someone who's won on main and alts.)
as for the loaded dice..,
If anything SE can do more against clear cheaters with modifications, or even set kill floors in pvp/market places.(But they haven't for some reasons)
[While one has the right for their comments to be lost to time. Everything should obviously be viewed as posted eternally.]
Final Fantasy XIV is by far the most modder-friendly MMO. Because Square Enix has no oversight over the API, a single plugin can remove all challenge from any content. Everything from combat to movement can be fully automated. And, according to the forums, if SE cracked down, "most people would leave" (source: the forums). So is it really laziness or just a feature? Because as far as I can see, Square Enix's ignorance is by design. Their neglect has given FFXIV one of the most powerful modding APIs in online gaming with zero repercussions.
This isn't secret either. It's all over the Internet. It's on Reddit, Google, Twitter, the forums, etc. When is Square Enix going to do something?
Bought the minions, mount, and music roll. May or may not go back for the glam, don't care about the framing kits or furniture, and the dyes are easily available elsewhere, so I might be done with this. It does not inspire me to try Fall Guys at all, but even without that, it's an okay diversion hampered by the usual server hamsters, outdated net code, and cheat mods. It's really just not a great mesh with XIV.
Strawman. The WoW API is restricted in what it can do. It cannot alter client/server packets, minimize your rotation, change assets, or change the environment. Ours does, because it's unregulated. The Fall Guys fiasco? That isn't possible in WoW. And while our usage rate is lower than WoW due to console players, the most popular plugins have still been downloaded millions of times on PC. This is an unregulated, unsafe and unfair API that millions of players have used and Square Enix just lets it happen.
and here yall go more feed back on the event lol. so much for winning. joy

The post on r/ffxivdiscussion is older by a day, and it probably existed a day before that too even.
It's still rather sad, especially when you can scroll through reddit, twitter, discord, and yes, even this very forum and see people defending the cheating.
I can't really wrap my mind around what's happening. It's so nonsensical, it doesn't feel real.
I grew up playing competitive shooters. Cheaters were always a thing, but no one in their right mind ever openly admitted and encouraged it on say the game's forums or on discords or social media. Every once in a while you'd see someone trying to flush cheaters out by showing supposed screenshots of some shady site or chat with people talking about using them, but it was never done out in the open. It was never accepted by the vast majority of the playerbase.
One day maybe SE will finally stop honey potting and give us an XI-style banwave.
Every mod to the game, no matter how minor.
One step at a time, I guess.
Yall know there really isnt anything they can do now to fix things beyond just nerfing it to hell but youre looking at the earliest by 8.X for something realistic like the latency/netcode. Sure they listen to us but lordy their dev. process just takes them ages to work in major changes unless its something that completely breaks the game, otherwise, bandaid, "working as intended" get back to you in 2-3 business years... Also its just a title, your life goals are fucked if that is something you just have to get right this second...
didnt do it, glams dont intrest me and at most maybe the mount for colelctors sake, i dont feel like getting mad at bad netcode
So why are the rewards adjusted? I get less because there are less competitors?
Yes. It means you're more likely to qualify so the rewards are less.
It is a wild change how people played day 1 to now.
Now just seeing that waiting list going up and down is obnoxious (ended up replaying because I missed 1 item, thank godness i only needed 100 currency)
Yeah, as someone who just put their nose to the grindstone for the first 5 days to get it I was annoyed when people mass entering then leaving to force a solo instance started to become a regular occurrence around the third day. I was using it as a means to buy a bunch of dyes and this moronic behaviour definitely impacted that. At least it's here until the end of the year as something to waste some time on when I feel like it, but the lengths people are going to in order to cheat in what amounts to a silly fun racing minigame are just plain depressing to see. Thankfully the silver lining is that the people actually cheating have their names displayed loud and proud when they fly right on up to the crown so reporting them is easy enough, I just haven't been fortunate enough to bump into one yet.
The definition of fun is subjective.
Also there is a 100 wins achievements on a limited time event that is literally ran on servers powered by hamsters so a lot of people can't even get a single win.
2 wrongs don't make a right, but I don't see you talk about the issues I have put in my OP, you'd rather attack other players instead of asking SE to fix the absolutely terrible netcode.
I know a lot of yall are scared of hurting the small indie company called square Enix, but I promise they'd get through it financially, but hey, snitching on players is easier than advocate for a better game by fixing the netcode and server tick issues.
Go you, you're doing great to make sure this game never improves.
The net code sucks. That doesn't excuse cheats.
Of course, SE rarely bothers to do anything about either issue anyway.
Yeah I agree with this. It's too late to act now. Forcing instances was never the issue anyways. It sucks that you have to wait around because there's enough people to start games immediately but a bunch of people are going to try to force the solo instance, but that's just how it is.
With how rampant the cheating is people need a reprieve.
Watching the entire of the event occur has been soul draining. SE could've done a lot to really prevent this from ever being an issue, but the community itself also disappoints. The FFXIV community is always praised for being amazing but there were people all over posting pics of them cheating. Someone posted an entire gif of them winning with their name visible with the cheats showing in one of my discords and the only responses were people admitting they do it too. In what world should someone who plays fairly feel like they uncomfortable about calling out someone who is obviously cheating in plain sight?
I was really hoping that at the least we'd get a statement from Yoshi P on this. It might be a slap on the wrist, but it'd be something. To me the silence is basically encouraging this to go on and get worse.
The chances that I'll ever win it are extremely slim, but my husband and I have had fun getting all the prizes and it's a really easy way of stocking up on those dyes. I'm not sure how much use the pink jogging suit will get, but sometimes I think that about an outfit at first and it grows on me.
I just did the event on my oceanic twinks... its hard, like REALLY hard but on one of em i actually ended up solo and won lol
Still that lag is insane...
outfit is ugly id pass
Reward was cute, I enjoyed the event kind of. But I didn't really care for the aoes hitting me after I already passed them. Just goes to show they really should try to make some improvements to the way the game handles those sorts of things again.
Between this and pvp it feels like the netcode is the biggest issue in the game for me.

I think my biggest criticism is that, if I want to play fallguys, I'd rather just play fallguys... the game is free to play and doesn't suffer from FFXIV's netcode issues and server tick setup. I like the idea, and I don't think it's a bad game or anything, but I can't help but feel like the devs are a little bit tone deaf to the built-in lag of this game. Minigames like fallguys puts FFXIV's flaws on full display. It's like those Endwalker cutscenes where the camera pans over the absolutely horrible-looking food. It's not a problem that the game's graphics system can't really display good looking food, and you can use relatively rough-looking props to fill a scene as needed, but you'd ideally want to avoid making those basic models with awful textures the focal point of any scene, not place them front and center. The same is true for the game's systems.
They should be working toward events and minigames that don't suffer from permanent lag, rather than competitive PVP minigames that are supposed to depend on snappy moment-to-moment decisions. It's why no one plays Chocobo Racing. A built-in Mario Kart minigame sounds like it could be fantastic, but not when everyone is dealing with permalag. We have Triple Triad which I do like, even if it suffers from having no really convenient way to just casually play without running out of decks to play with almost immediately, but something like a Hearthstone-esque minigame or crossover, or something like Genshin's Genius Invokation would make a lot more sense since you aren't trying to play a game of movement skills and timing with a laggy system. Not asking for that specifically, just using it as an example. I want to like the fallguys event more, but it really can't hope to outshine the original at its own game. In hindsight, an Among Us crossover probably could've been a lot more effective, because the focus is on discussion and deduction.
I’m not going to lie, I am enjoying doing the event even with the annoying late strikes I take. I’m currently running it with all my Alts just to get all the junk from the vendor. After earning 4800 bean tokens or whatever it is, I get my stuff and move on. I average at least 2 wins every go with a character. I run about 14 runs so that means I win every 7 games. That’s fine. I can’t win them all. I’m not looking for that lame title.

One thing I do want to ask, are the Japanese forum tripping out like we are? Is there anything on their forum? If not, maybe someone who speaks Japanese should post something on their forum.
Definitely been having fun slurping up all of the "nEtCoDe" and "someone else did something I can't; they must have cheated" tears.
Worth noting that in all of the matches I played for the title, I never once came across anyone who I suspected of cheating (by this, I mean performing feats that should be outright impossible, like levitating to the crown or running faster than normal or something). Not saying it never happens, certainly, but I really don't think it's as commonplace as being made out to be. If you ever do come across someone doing that, I'd just make a note of who it is and drop out of the lobby if you see them in it. The people who are brazen enough to do this probably aren't bothering to reenter to fish for solo lobbies, so it's unlikely they will continuously follow you to the next lobby.
