Is it necessary to advertise "LGBTQ+ friendly"

I believe that there's some factors that can have it come up innocently, such as someone saying "I need to be off by three, my boyfriend's coming over to take me to see his mom." But from personal experience, a lot of it comes from folks being unnecessarily vocal IE "As someone that's ___" "It's just something that we ___ people do" or "I'm ___ and I find that offensive." It's also a rather new trend to list your pronouns or announce them upon entering a new guild. It's hard to tell if offering that info when nobody asked is a trend, or what.

First thing that comes to mind; avoiding bad and offensive jokes some may find okay to say. Some people just absolutely have to make punch down jokes rather than punch up - this is something I'd like to avoid. With that being said, with just that mere one simple example out of many possible other ones, that would be a reason I'd go out of my way to find an LGBTQ+ FC, or bring the topic up at all. One reason is enough.
I don't, and I'm not, but that is an example for one that might want to.

Edit: Main point is that I can see why some would bring it up, is to avoid folks who go out of their way to make them uncomfortable in the first place - it's not a fun experience.
