Any word on when we will get an Auction House?

Honestly the biggest problem to me is that it only shows the first 20 lowest sales. if im looking for a +3 crab bow i will never find it into i go in every ward. (unless of course its one of the top 20 lowest crab bows sold which it will never be)

They can easily kill this by letting you buy from the item search. No need to rebuild anything just let people who want to buy from the menu do so. But the biggest problem is you can not find all the items in the MW. that needs to be fixed first.

If that's the case why don't they man up and make this an official promise? At least to me this would give me something to look forward to and ignoring this topic is just sending the wrong message if they have plans on it.

Really? When reviews were out about this game first everyone raged there was no AH, and now almost year down the road there is still no AH and what do we have now a revised MW's?

I dont think sales have picked up one bit.

Give it one expansion and a AH and people will flock.

I agree, we need an Auction House. The MW's have very much improved, but the more it improves the more like an AH it becomes. Personally I believe they will introduce the AH once they introduce the houses. Once we have a new place to store all our stuff the MW's can be ripped down and a shiny new AH put up in it's place.

There is actually an AH in Limsa, right near the docks on the lower decks. Unfortuantely it doesn't function yet. This would suggest the AH is definately on the agenda for future developement. Check it out for youselves.

Yeah but when the guy SELLING the game at gamestop actually comes out and tells you the game isnt very good and it doesnt even have an auction house it does make a difference.

But thats not what he will say. he wont say the game is not good because it does not have an AH. He will say the game sucks because of the million mistakes SE made at the start.

If you don't purchase a game because the guy selling the game tell's it doesn't have an aution house and that prevents you from buying the game solely on that point you seriously have some issue to deal with. Would I like to see aution house yes and no dont mind the markets could be improved but I can wait if it happens or not.

I just bought a copy at Gamestop on Friday and he said "The game looks beautiful and it is free to play right now. I was thinking of checking it out. Let me know if it is any good next time you come in." But I am sure there are Gamestop employees that have played it and might mention the AH. I have only been playing this weekend and I noticed several things I want improved before adding an AH.

every store employee ive seen, not just game stop, who mentions the game when im looking at stuff, doesnt talk about an ah, they ask about the battle system, about content, the things that matter

not a single person ive ever met that has a problem with the game irl cares about an ah

They just need to get a ah in this game and be done with it.

Because they're not quite sure if they want to add the AH or not. I'm not going through all 16 of the letters but in 2 of them where he lists his ideas and stuff he even says they'll look into adding the AH, not that they will. As much as I'd love for them to put the wards out of it's misery there's still no proof they will.

The Market Wards work right now with less than the bare minimum. Short version: FFXIV needs an auction house/bidding house/broker!

but to clarify I wasn't saying the players didn't want it, I was saying an AH hasn't been on Yoshi's to-do list he posts. I really like the concept of the armory system and being able to tailor my abilities to create the rdm/nin/bst hybrid I always wanted lol Heck, I left Aion (which i really liked) for xiv because of all the possibilities. But honestly, i'm one of those who without an AH, mail, ect... will not stay when they ask for a monthly fee. There's just some basic functions I expect from an mmo.

Market Ward = More balancing issues that SE has to continuosly fix. NO THANK YOU.

Auction House = Time tested and Approved system that requires less system resources and is easier to implement and maintain. YES PLEASE!

And for the record I have nothing against those 5 persons who want to keep on RP-ing in the wards. Keep them for all I care and stop acting like people are requesting features to be taken away from the game instead of adding them.

Few players used the Rolanberry zombiemarket in XI too. I think that's perfectly fine until you start demanding for every player in the game to go through that and still contribute to the economy. It just aint happening as you can already see in the game.

While I like the idea of "buy it now" I don't see any point in waiting for anything when using an AH.

The whole point of an AH is to make the shopping process easier. The only real auction-like effect AH should bring is to balance the economy and the only gamble is setting items for sale based on what the items value at the moment is.

I just thought of this thread when I saw SE responding to FONT-requests. Honestly what kind of priority is that over the more pressing and demanded features like this one?

Awsome news everyone they will be changing the font, and they may change the size of the text that tells you you are in a light party! Auction house?? No they dont have time for silly things like fixing the in game economy.

Shut up please,tony. Font size it's a meaningles change programming-side instead of AH. Second, AH mailbox and delivery are all bound under "server-side fixes FIRST" and more importantly economy don't fix itself just with auction house. Throw your *** elsewhere

I think that explanation would be all good and reasonable but from what I understand (knowing that we don't know the full picture of their intentions either way really) these "server-side fixes" are needed because SE insists on loading 150 player bots into one room with massive inventories.

I hope I'm wrong and these fixes make the implementation of an AH a breeze but then again they could just tell us that it's happening I'm sure it would make masses of people happy to know their wishes were heard in the player's poll.

server fixes are ongoing behind the scenes, they don't write that in the patch notes. 1.18 bring with it a gui much faster than before, even when selling stuff on vendor. The only thing still slow like hell it's exchanging stuff with retainer and setting manually actions on bar
