Quick question: When you obtain these items, is it for a single character only or is it account-wide?
It's not the product that I would have a problem with, what ever it may be. It's the method and the 3rd party that I dislike. The 7-11 idea would of been fine because they're a dime a dozen where I live. I one of those that likes to touch and see what I'm buying to determine whether it's worth it's value. But anyhow, the decision has been made, no amount of jumping up and down in a tantrum is going to change it.
omg NA only??? this is not fair........................

im from EU!!..............
If only they would've just put them to MogStation, I'd been happy to pay that 19,99€ there.
I read a translation of the 7-11 event that the items were account-wide. Can anyone confirm? I really want them but I have 8 characters and I'd want this on at least most of them.
Greetings, everyone!
Just a heads up that we'll have more information on the North American Amazon promotion to announce soon!
These promotional items are account-wide!
As for details on European promotions, please stay tuned! While this announcement was specifically for the North American audience, we are of course planning similar promotions for European players to participate in!
In Japan you had to collect both costumes separately. The maid costume is locked to ladies and the suit to men. So since those in the US are getting everything in one go, you'll have both to choose from and dress your retainers up, I imagine.
Very sad that they twisted the knife for EU folks again by announcing the NA promotion without any details of ours, but not entirely surprised. The excitement of seeing the new items has faded since everyone else on my server has had them for ages.
Kinda lame, NA players can wear this outfit next week, while its still unknown for the EU. Just put the item on the Mog Station and get it over with.
SE gets money, players get the items. WIN/WIN
Question... Will it work for Amazon.ca as well? Us Canadians don't want to be left out!
This makes me extremely uneasy as an Australian.... "European" promotions almost always exclude Australia/New Zealand/South East Asia (And other regions forced to use an European account but don't live in Europe itself)
Please tell me SE isn't going to yet again shaft their Oceanic player base yet again... PLEASE say it isn't so
I understand your unease.
The way I see it, the 7/11 promotion was for JP accounts. The Amazon promotion will be for NA accounts. And the EU promotion should cover all EU accounts.
It's just a theory based on process of elimination, but it covers every player. The real difficulty will be accessibility to whom ever is 'selling' the EU promotion.
So I just gotta buy something through amazon or .....what do I buy?
Because there's some stuff I'd been wanting....now seems the time for it if there's a promotion
They haven't said what it is or what you have to buy yet. Maybe its something square enix related. Can't see it being everything on amazon because so many people buy stuff on amazon each day and very few of them would have a need for a FFXIV code. Maybe its buying a time card or something. But I hope not because those time cards aren't good for Legacy players since we can get our sub for $7.99 a month.
Australians still shafted again :(
It has to be a voucher. Time cards are about 30 bucks and the price was listed as to spend 20 bucks.
What I want confirmed (even though it feels obvious enough) is whether or not amazon.ca will be included and/or whether or not Canadian accounts are eligible to use the codes.
Can you tell us if the code from the sale will be all items? or will it have to be redeemed at 19.99 for one item of our choice through the mog station? (maid/butler outfit, Chocobo, Masks, fireworks). That's 80 bucks I'd have to spend, plus potential shipping...
I suspect the item code may be region locked to NA accounts. However, if it isn't, then the poor EU account holders get them earlier at the very least.
what I would like to be confirmed is whether or not the items we need to buy to the butler/maid suit will be sold out as it's something sold in limited quantities.
It's all items including both maid and butler outfits (unlike the Jp event in which you had to choose).

Not a stupid question at all! Some kinds of redemption codes are region locked for FFXIV, so if you have an item code for the Japanese version it won't work in the European version etc. I learnt this to my cost way back in the day trying to use my (Japanese) FFXIII item code on my (European) FFXIV account, and the 7-Eleven codes are the same way. So the Amazon US codes will work across the 'NA' region (Canada, USA etc.) but those of us in Europe and Australia (and other territories which pay S-E Europe rather than Japan or America) will have to wait for codes compatible with our region to be released, or we'll have wasted twenty bucks.
Do the purchases in Amazon have to be Final Fantasy related? And do they have to be video games only?
I'm also worried about who will be the seller for the EU promotion. Just hoping whatever it ends up being can be accessible to those in EU as well as those living outside of EU who have an EU account
I'm HOPING it'll be anything that Squeenix has published...but it'll probably be specifically FF related...is my guess.
Yes... it's not like the 7-11 campaign was super convenient for everyone, LUCKILY my city got its first 7-11 right before the campaign started, otherwise I would have had to drive 40 minutes just to buy like 28 bottles of water, to get 28 separate codes on a receipt, which then had to be input individually, on an account made on a website specifically for that purpose!!
Getting it from amazon is W A Y more convenient. And cheaper! 2800 yen vs $20......
Well... yes. That's kind of the point of a promotion. To get consumers to purchase products that they otherwise would not purchase.
If it's enough to get you, someone who would otherwise never give 7-11 the time of day, to buy stuff from 7-11, then it's worked splendidly. And if not - well, there's plenty of other fish in the sea. No promotion expects EVERYONE to take the bait.
My understanding is that this promotion in Japan was such an overwhelming success that 7-11s were regularly selling out of the promoted products. Sounds like they were doin' it right.
Im just hoping u need to spend 19.99 and up and I hope they announce something on lodestone bc I really wanna get the maid dress lol
You say NA but will this promotion include Canada? We can't always ship stuff from Amazon.com to Canada so have to use Amazon.ca and it wouldn't surprise me if this promotion went live and Amazon.ca wasn't part of it.
Why not do a 'Mogstation promotion' for NA/EU
For the original Japanese promotion, it was soda and bottled water, so I very much doubt it would have to be SE related merchandise this time around. We don't really know yet, though. The brief mention in the article just referred to "qualifying purchase".
Ah, it seems the article has been updated again: "those who make a qualifying purchase (Update: a purchase from the Videogames Department) of $19.99 or more"
So, it looks like any videogame purchase from Amazon works.
Anyway, a promotion like this isn't actually about promoting SE's products directly. It's about using SE's products to promote 7-11 or Amazon or whoever they make a deal with in Europe. Then SE undoubtedly gets a kickback from that company for driving customers to their stores.
I have a request: SE can you update the housing maid/butler npc with the promotion clothes instead of the fake maid/butler ones ?

Please! ;)
Confirmed on Twitter that the code we receive will reward us with ALL of the items, not randomly selected items from the pool like some people have been writing.
