I'd probably try it out for fun with friends and LS. Although not a big fan of it, I don't mind players who like it and I trust the developers will make both contents likable for all. (゜∇^d) Here's for hoping!

It was announced long ago that PvP would have its own skills/gear for that very reason; to avoid messing with the PvE equivalents. There goes that argument.
More like "the man/woman who sets up their keybinds properly, knows what each of their skills do and has an IQ of over 30 wins"
I've never had to touch any of my 18 G-keys on the left side of my keyboard, especially after I set up an efficient UI and easy to access keybinds on my mouse/keyboard in "that" game.
I do it all the time, as do most PvPers.
Your multi-skill macro won't mean anything when I lock you out of each one with an interrupt/silence/stun/fear/etc from a single key press. The only people who macro their skills like that in PvP are the kids who don't know what the hell they're doing.
But yeah, to answer OP's question... Yes. I will gracefully swan dive in to PvP.
No I won't maybe once or twice with the LS. But pvp has never interested me, it's the reason I played this and xi because of the lack of pvp being forced
If you want a pure PvE, IMO you can play other MMOs. FFXIV has the opportunity to mix things up here and turn heads. Like it or not, PVP is popular. I mean, why play an online game only to fight instances and computer controlled mobs?
I look forward to PVP. Especially team based elements. One on One is one thing, but a 4 on 4 or even 8 on 8 has the potential to be very interesting indeed~
Or even, *GASP* Primal vs Primal~
Suddenly, keeping classes available seems like a good idea.
i'm going to play the crap out of PvP ff PvP back in 11 was awesome to bad not a lot of people play it tho
I wont be bothering with pvp
I've noticed a lot of MMO's get these grand ideas for pvp that they try to implement that just end up failing. Like fortress raids in Aion, and guild city fights in AoC. I hope in FFXIV they don't follow the same path. If they want to add pvp I just hope it's simple, traditional, and totally separate from the real game. Yoshida already stated a that they don't plan on adding any real rewards to pvp because they don't want to try to force serious players into doing it just for the rewards. If they change their stance on this and force me to do pvp to get gear I'm going to be less than happy.
Ill be playing PvP for sure. A nice balance of things to do is always good.
One other thing I really hate about PVP is the constant crap talking... oh my god it's rediculous.
Secondly, is the stunning. Jeez-us crisp the stunning... whenever in a pvp server the first thing anyone does is stun. God damn it I wouldn't fight you anyway, just god damn kill me don't sit their and stun lock me and slowly kill just end me and be over with it.
It's all about timing and I hate it when I am not in full control of myself. If I wanted pvp I play a fighter game like Dead or Alive were I actually have a good chance of winning cause you can't stun me, maybe juggle a bit, but far less annoying then a stun-lock pvp jerk.
Thank Yoshi-P for not having open Pvp atleast.
