Disappointed With XIV Direction

Bozja also did really well at actually having good catchup gear, the blades gear (basch and penelo’s outfits if you played 12) was 525 in the patch after savage released 530. So for a lot of situations blades formed the “I haven’t finished the savage tier BIS” for things like the caster chest piece for classes that didn’t want SPS, most of the healer gear didn’t have piety and a lot of the tank gear didn’t have SKS.

That plus the relics made the late ShB gearing system quite interesting because it wasn’t just “either do savage or wait and hope and the alliance raid stuff isn’t terrible”

For someone playing 11 years excluding 1.0, I have less than 300 forum posts. This tells you I play the game more than dwelling in the forums. As for you, registered 3 years with 2.8k posts ... says another thing.

I usually come forum for information on the game but recent months (year?) I see ridiculous posts asking, whining, complaining & badgering SE & FF team and also the players that love this game. This is not acceptable.

Mate, that's a weird shot at an attempt for argument.

The joined date on the forum doesn't represent the actual join date or account creation. My account is from like April 2019, yet shows August 2019 instead.

By the same token if that’s your actual skill total in your signature and youve been playing since 2013 then you have to understand that you are completing content unnaturally slowly compared to the actual playerbase

I’m an anaesthesiologist and regularly work 80-90 hour weeks. I have a partner at home and I attempt to maintain a social life. In the same timeframe (I played legacy but I’m gonna ignore legacy) of the 11 years I’ve spent 6.5 of them on break, in the remaining 4.5 I have functionally done everything the game has to offer (across both my accounts). Eureka, Bozja, IS, IR, all 4 types of the diadem, savage, ultimate, DRS, BA, crafting, fishing, DD, maps, RP, self generated content I’ve either finished or given a good crack at it all and I still feel like I spend more time having no content than actually having content to do. Hell I have near 5,000 posts on the forum so I have that to add to my “playtime” as well

If you can play functionally non stop for 11 years and still have your average skill total be closer to 1 than to 100 then you really can’t claim authority on the average speed of the playerbase and their desire for more content.

How can you say what's going on at the forums is not acceptable when SE, who not only has the freedom to change how the forum works but also actively directs complaints to the forum, accepts it.

What do you mean, you're not using it. You have less than 300 posts in 10 years. A forum is meant to be posted on, something that I am doing with my 2.8k posts in 3+ years. But if you dont like what is being posted on the forum you can always just choose to not look at it.

Why not take a break and hoard the content, so when you return, there will be lots of it.

I do feel for the casual playerbase that feels very left out of this patch, and unfortunately its been this way every X.1 patch as long as the MMO has been around. Despite having this feedback every time about there being very little repeatable/grind content for the average player, they're still doing it all these years later.

I do hope SE eventually learns to move the release tables around to have something more mass-appealing in X.1 in the future, because the player's feelings about the casual content drought only gets worse as the time between patches gets longer.

The forum doesn't belong to anyone though? Anyone who has an active subscription can post in it.

I literally never visited this forum because I was enjoying the game and only posted to complain about the forced steam link and later the PLD cover in onsal and how frustrating that was....
It wasn't until their half baked benchmark came out that I started posting here often too about eyestrain issues that I never had prior to 7.0

Where else can people go if not through official outlets to let their voices be hopefully heard? You don't own it. It wasn't 'taken from you' and as such it can't be given 'back' to you.
You come here to get information...what information? It doesn't take rocket science to conclude that naturally forums would be more skewed to complaining/grievances of varying levels. If I wanted information I'd go to the lodestone, discord, youtube and other outlets.

While I agree, people should vote with their wallet, some might still have reason for staying, some might even be inhaling the copium that 'this is just a phase' and things get worse before they get better.
Ultimately, SE is a business, change won't happen until they're hit where it hurts, money but by the time people don't care enough to give feedback and are just silently unsubbing, it'd already be too late in my opinion. There won't be ARR 2.0 to salvage it either, but hey, time will tell.

Why not order a meal at a restaurant and take it home to stuff it in the freezer?

Sure definitely not a bad idea and I'm sure it works just fine for a bunch of people but for me it does leave a bitter taste in my mouth buying an expansion and maintaining a monthly sub just to be told I can have a better time if I return at a later date. Yes nobody is forcing me to stay subbed if I'm unhappy with the product and I get that it just makes me wonder what kinda business strategy that's supposed to be.
