Is version 2.0 really coming out before 1-1-13

Ah, I assumed since you just started paying that you just got the game. Well, I guess it's possible then if you pay for enough time.

Well its only August and September, end of September/Early October they Start the First Phase of beta, the November Beta could be anything PC will probably get a head start of PS3 on Playing FFXIV ARR.

Yeah I actually paid for 7,000 crysta when the game launched, but they kept giving us free months so I never used it. Then some real life stuff came up and I had to take an exteded break until the end of last month. It's not make or break if I do or don't get it, but I'd like the denotion on my account if it's still possible.

Yeah, "Which" beta are they referring to? PC? PS3? What "Type" of Beta is to start in November and for which platform PC or PS3? This is why we need info on " what beta is starting in November" PS3 is Obviously is getting a Closed beta.. but is PC getting a Closed beta as well? or is it going to jump ahead, since PC has been out for 2 years already?.

All these actually play a part. We know PC and PS3 are getting Betas, but does PC get a jump start? or PC and PS3 will be on the same Beta stage?

We know there's a PC-Beta but what kind of Beta? ( Alpha? Closed? Open?)

LAst conference said 1.0 will be going down october with the distribution of 2.0 to PC clients (does not mean you will be instantly in 2.0 PC beta side since current players will be added and cued for soft and load in-what ever load in is).

You supoosibly won't be able to play current accounts until official relaunch Data wil lstill be transferring. No word yet on beta account playability beign transfered or not. Or just for server testing.

Im sure more light will be shed on it for those of us that paid for the game and donn't want no play at all. Especially after payign 79.99 for the collectors edition and monthly fee's.

Hopefully I qualify for legacy too! I bought the collectors edition long ago >.>; and september 7 will mark my 90 days for legacy :D

There are people here who consider open beta is game launch (2 very different things). How are we supposed to rage and speculate to our hearts content with such irrational opinions?!?!

Well open beta is usually close to Retail Launch Generally ( within 1-2 weeks) so in contrast ( even though you don't keep your character) you still are able to play the game and only wait about 1-2 weeks after open beta is completed.

I think the March 2013 date is a typo... Should be March 2012. If you look all the way at the bottom of the PDF, it says:

・April 2012 –Version 2.0 client system complete
-Commence porting of current game content to version 2.0 client

Don't think they'd start porting data a year before the development of it was done. Everything in that PDF has 2012 stamped all over it.

And yes, migrating the data over could indeed take a month. I've worked on much smaller scale projects where data conversion took a full day (10+ hours). Don't forget, they're not just copying a file from one machine to another.. The data needs to be converted to fit whatever new data structure they have on the new systems.

I'm like the majority here, expecting downtime late this year, back up early next.. A welcomed break to play some other games that have been piling up.
