My 14-year anniversary is next week and we're still going strong. Maybe you just haven't found the right partner?

I don't know...I've got a friend that I've known for 30 years. We still hang out regularly, and we are like another member of each others family. And honestly, there are VERY few people I would even be able to consider having a friendship that lasts even 1/4 of that. Not even people I knew in school have lasted as friends as long as this one.
Doesn't mean you have to change them out like underwear. I've had friends I met in EverQuest in 1999 that are still my friends and we still play games together. I met my hubby 27 years ago and we've been officially together for 22 years now. When it works, it works. Sure, if it doesn't then find something that will work, but you don't always need something new.
Right, correct. Anyway, why don't you ask yourself the following:
Why didn't the poster take a hiatus at any other point in the past ten years? Why now? Do you think there's some magic formula that says that gamers are done with an MMO after exactly ten years, no more and no less? And how did you come up with this? Research? Surely it can't be that content sucks right now, right?
You won't answer, because you're just pulling more excuses as to why FFXIV is "the best game ever", "totally worth the sub", "the content is fine", and "if you don't like it, unsub". And, of course, your favorite: "if you don't like it, that's your fault!"
The denial and copium is mind-boggling at this point. Don't you think that perhaps there's a possibly that the content just sucks right now? Or is the super-human Yoshi-P and CBU3 perfectly capable of performing double the work in the same amount of time? If they are, then surely we'll get twice the content now that FF16 is done, right?
The FFXIV fanbase is its worst enemy. It's sad to see this game go the way of WoW, but I guess we all have to pack it up and move somewhere else.
While what you're saying is possible. There's also the possibility of just straight up burnout. The longer you play the more likely it can happen.
And the content may suck for you and I'm sorry for that. There's some aspects this expansion I'm not a fan of either but there's also some I love. How you view the content can vary from one person to another.
A good example was me with stormblood. I was a new player back then so I had a blast during that expansion but obv there were plenty who didn't.
