Kind of strange to enter the market if you hate the audience, Mr. NA forum user. :^)
Can never tell if you're trolling or not.
I don't think the developers hate us, but respect is a two way street isn't it? If you want someone to interact with you then you have to respect them. I mean in some cases you could just give people the same lack of respect they give you, but in this situation the developers are professionals. They don't exactly have that option.
But why should the individual bother when the majority have already condemned them due to X, Y, or Z? (like i'm naming them out and get people even more upset, lol) Besides, if the majority wants something that will harm the longevity then it would not be shocking that many that have stuck around since the beginning of the game would complain. But to talk about the topic at hand, it's hard to find civility in a world where everyone wants a black/white argument without any concession or middle ground, but i'm a dumb american, you really should not be listening to me, lmao.
Perhaps they could use their tools of moderation to simultaneously warn or ban people who are incredibly aggressive towards them while creating a positive environment for giving feedback? I'd wager most of the aggression comes from the fact there is literally 0 indication that anyone is being listened to at all, on top of the incredible lack of moderation.
For as much money as this game makes Square, these forums should absolutely be more moderated to not allow the 50+ page trolling threads on political issues/identity issues to last for weeks as they have at times, and they should also have community managers that are able to effectively pass on feedback and suggestions to the developers since this is literally where the game itself tells you to go to leave that kind of stuff.
We don't need to jump into this nonsense of "why would they want to be here when people are mean?? they don't listen because people mean and rude??" when perhaps it's just SE's fault that this environment has been allowed to develop in the first place? They're the only ones with the ability to moderate the forums, and they barely make an attempt to even do that.
And here I thought this was another high chair thread. lol
Finally! Someone gets it! It would be one thing if this was some private server manned by a couple of guys on discord but considering people are (I assume) pulling a paycheck by upkeeping the forums all it would take is some CS agent or (god forbid) a dev to make a post every once in a while to talk about what players are having an issue with. They could even banter if they want, nothing wrong with a good joke and it would actually endear the "company's image" to the fanbase. All i'm saying is that someone is getting paid to do very little and I want in, hit me up SE. I wrote the book on doing very little on the job~!
I want to chime in on this as I don't believe this requires another topic regarding this subject since it is still kind of a relevant issue.
I think we need to investigate what exactly is going here because this has been going on for years now, something needs to be changed. I think the last time there was ever any interaction was regarding player hair I recall? After that radio silence.
At this point this is becoming a toxic relationship between the playerbase on this forum vs the Developers.
