No male vieras :D
These facts don't matter. People want Male Viera, they should stop everything to make Male Viera, a Races Gender that was never Promised, but people feel entitled to.
Hire More staff, stop making content, stop fixing other issues, Anything thats not Male Viera is an excuse. Oh and I guess Female Hrothgar too for Gender Equality, but who cares about them, we need Male Viera
1) No, that's not at all what they said. What they said is that hairstyles will be unique to Viera/Hrothgar, due to the way they were implemented. That doesn't mean they can't make Hrothgar/Viera versions of existing hairstyles.
2) I'm not sure what you're referring to about GNB and DNC "not getting the coolest weapon sets"? I couldn't find anything in the LL about that.
And also... you find 3 things you're disappointed about and so you decide the entire LL was disappointing? There was a lot of good stuff in the LL.
I don’t even play a male character, and I’m quite disappointed in the “no male beard/stubble. Too hard.” I’m experienced in programming and reverse engineering, but I have 0 experience in in-game character models.
Literally, how hard is it to poke tiny dots on a male’s face and call it a stubble? If anyone is experienced in character model editing, and aren’t just talking out their rear, please inform me as to why this is a difficult task.
Oh boy. I wish I could skip work with the same “it’s too hard” excuse lol
Unfortunately male characters are treated like second class citizens in this game at times. It doesn't help that Yoshi-P plays a female character himself and expressed joy and enthusiasm in response to a question about Y'shtola's outfit being added. If only that same enthusiasm could be channeled into adding more facial hair as customisation options. It's been a common request for years now and seeing them take the time to give it to to the Warrior of Light in promotional footage serves to rub salt into wounds.
I'm hoping they stick to their plan of looking into it further.
Oh, they are not. Both genders have things that don't flatter them. Lots of WHM robes on guys look ridiculous and lots of tank armor on gals look ludicrously bulky. Each gender and subrace has hairstyles to fit your look and ones you'll hate.
At least male characters don't have to run around in miniskirts showing off their underwear till at least lvl 5 when they first start the game. I'd also bring up subligers, but I think those mortify both genders equally. But there's no development bias for or against male or female character models in this game.
To be fair, plate armor is unisex because it's built to be practical and bulky (they could use more exposed skin sometimes tho), a pink, white or gold "robe" full of ribbons, frills, and occasional exposed back/boob window with matching heels is definitely not unisex. Eden is the most recent example of male healers treated like they don't exist.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on that. I wasn't solely referring to glamour options, either, I was speaking in regards to a lot of factors and design decisions over the years as well as a dismissive attitude towards questions detailing male customisation options.
That Highlander men cannot have proper eyebrows but the women can is but one example of what I am getting at.
Historically a lot of those who say it isn't an issue gravitate towards playing female characters for the most part, too. Usually either exclusively or at least more often than they play a male character. That isn't a dig at you, specifically, but just something I've observed over the years. :p
You know me, I think it is an issue so I exclusively play female characters, because it's an issue. Male characters look dumb in this game. Very few cool armor options and stuff too, in my opinion. Most stuff definitely looks better on female. I don't necessarily think this is because they are fully dismissive towards male characters, but more the art direction, or culture.
Like if my dude can't look cool without armor, at least make the armors look really bad butt, and cool as heck!
