What do you think was the worst thing this game experienced from 2.0 until now?

I see a lot of people citing the forced cutscenes for the MSQ Roulette dungeons, and yes that's fair enough. But I'd go as far to say that making those dungeons into 8-man mandatory content and then putting such long, important scenes into it rather than making it a single-player story instance in the first place was probably a far greater failing.

..you can do that now. A lot of this is a player issue. There's nothing stopping people from taking it slowly, duoing or light partying it, taking breaks in the middle of the grind to chat. You mention parsers, but...again thats a player issue. The game issues exist and revolve around them trying to nerf the fate train too much, then underreacting by just boosting the fate train without fixing the issues. But they can't be blamed if players make it also a joyless slog on their end. The content isn't really going anywheres that you need to hardcore grind it to get everything in two weeks to a month.

Latency
Cash shop
Making modes of transportation useless.
Making crafting pointless.
Allowing the game to not being a community and more of a solo “MMO”

8man msq has left an indelible bad taste in my mouth. All of that story build-up...only for it to be butchered by instance environment that basically allowed new people to be left behind or rushed to finish, accompanied by the broken jingle record of "just watch it in the inn." Yeah, because that's what I played the msq for: the ultimate end goal of watching the "its a story driven mmo; go play another game if you don't like" cutscenes in an inn.


Excuse my jadedness.

All I can say is the introduction of the Mogstation cashshop... I find it pretty stupid to have a cashshop in a pay2play based MMO.

Honestly? Pepsi Man

Destroyed the majority of the raiding scene, effects still felt to this day.

Eureka and Mogstation combined can't hold a candle to the defection Alexander (Savage) brought about.

Except you fall behind, and in content like Pagos that will make the task exceptionally harder since it's extremely un-solo friendly. FATEs scale to your level whereas Pagos doesn't since our Magia board doesn't increase in this iteration. Not to mention, Yokai never loses its value as it's only an objective for collectors. The relic used to be a decent alternative for casual players or people wanting to play alt jobs. Now it's trash come two weeks from today. At least from a stat perspective.

And it isn't the players making it a "joyless slog." They're simply being efficient because a good number don't even want to be there. Pagos is simply designed to be a joyless slog.

The content may not be going anywhere, but the rewards are. They'll be obsolete in two weeks.

I can't even experience Pagos because I couldn't tolerate Anemos for long enough to get through it.

I'm going to decide to be a contrarian.

I dislike Eureka as much as the next person, but as long as the Animus books for the ARR relic exist I'd hesitate on calling it the worst thing that's happened to the game, even after nerfs.
