Question (and forgive my ignorance) - does Time Dilation extend all positive effects, or just ones applied by the AST? I'm wondering if, by combining with a PLD, you could have some obscenely buffed defensives - 25s Sentinel/Hallowed for instance.

Just the ones you apply.
Scholar will still be required for progression due to their dps and mitigation tools like Deployment, but now i can at least see Astrologian being competitive on the healing side. I don't think this buff is enough to be on par for early raid progression, you still burn too mp while dpsing imho, but for everything else now you shouldn't see any difference.
So uh. Nocturnal Benefic shields more than non crit Adlo now (and that is like 95% of the time due to SCH gear basically not having crit anymore), while costing like 40% less mp? Ok.
The changes are nice and all but I don't get why some people will fear that AST will now be the go to choice for raiding and leave WHM/SCH in the dust. The thing that made AST not as desirable in group content is still present.
Still I'll definitely give it a testdrive in savage today.
Hidden Buff - Collective Unconscious Regen effect ( wheel of fortune buff) stay even when you leave the bubble and is refreshed when you come back in
