Brds? brds are only bards 5% of the time.....95% of the time we play the wannabecaster dps.... or like i said , cry in the corner "whats the purpouse of me being here now? T_T.....:rolleyes:
MCH at least feel MCH even when supporting , since their support comes from turrets.

Something that does bother me on both BRD and MCH is that not only is our DPS lower than other jobs, we also hit a 15-20% decrease in our DPS when we use songs/turret promotion. Sure, most of the time we do not use them, but I don't get the mindset from SE that not only do they need to be significantly lower than other DPS, but also take an even heavier penalty when you turn your support abilities on. Unless BRD or MCH has some hidden rotation that greatly increases our DPS than it is now.

to adapt to a flawed class/job/mechanic/play-style is the same as saying "Square you did Good", and while everyone is adapting Square wont fix the flaws because everyone is playing/adapting, and that does not make a flawed game design good or acceptable.
i started my archer/bard fully aware that i will not be the best DPS wise, i like bards and bowman's and i have read the forum, but can have my fun with the class/job.
and again, i know that i am just a LvL27 Archer atm and that i am a beginner, and while i really love FFXIV i'm beginning to consider stopping to play at all because it is really discouraging to read about the changes made by Square to the class/job i want to play, but... as i am new to the game and love it i will "Try and See for myself" what a LvL60 Bard is like.
i just really hope that at the time i get to LvL60, Square will have fixed some if not all the flaws discussed in this thread, and thank you all for the discussion here in this thread and the forum because i get to know the classes/jobs quirks and flaws.

Not sure if this counts as "fixing" bard but is anyone else extremely annoyed by doing high level roulette/trial and having to revert back to vanilla bard? It is such an extreme playstyle change, honestly I am alot more hesitant about performing mechanics now that my bard has cast times and when I switch back to level 50\/ i usually forget that I can move and shoot at the same time. Giving WM to bards at an earlier level will help new players adapt to the playstyle change quicker and won't make me cry whenever I have to do low level content.

I think its ok as is, honestly. If anything, our DPS still needs a little work so maybe just give us back our freakin Auto Attacks. It doesnt make any sense that we have a new special stance but we cant just shoot a basic arrow shot off.
Before any self-loathing, support wanna-be Bards out there start with the "oh but we'd be OP" ... no we wouldnt, we're DPS, not support. We should be useful all of the time, not just in bad groups. Even IF somehow our two measly buff songs (that can be done by other classes with no penalty) is OP, then its the songs that need to be nerfed, while our DPS brought to par.
As for the other stuff im on the non-issue side of things. The oGCD window allows for 1 now instead of 2, doesnt mean its broken or bad, just different. So long as our DPS is good its simply a slightly different rotation than what we had before.
MAYBE fix the Straighter Shot procs to pop up sooner so we can see it quicker but even thats just being picky IMO. Its a 10 second buff on a 20% RNG with Heavy Shot. More than enough time to use it, and the chances of actually missing one is fairly low considering. Not really something to lose sleep over. -

I mean we had a job where literally everything flowed well together except maybe quad barrage which never felt like it was meant to be there in the first place anyway.
They copy paste a skill on top of our kit for the sake of balance and suddenly there are these little bumps at every step of the rotation, which we never had before.
I am not saying it's unplayable, but I sure would enjoy playing it much more if the rotation had the streamlined flow back to it.
Some of the issues I mentioned, like flaming arrow being slow to register, always been there, but they do become more apparent when you shorten the time we have to use our OGCD's just that little bit more where it becomes an annoyance rather than a minor inconvenience. -
