DRAGON MOUNTS

Pleaaaaase no flying mounts. I hate it. Yeah, it makes traveling quicker, but that's not what this game should be about (minus Anima, of course). If anything, just expand on the Chocobo system.

I loved flying Dragons and Black Chocobos in Final Fantasy V. They should totally do it....maybe in a expansion pack. Other MMOs that I have played have flying on brooms, hoverboards, swords, and some of the characters have wings that allow them to fly. It would be a crime against FANS of Final Fantasy to not have the grand experience of flying while other MMOs have that privlidge.

I'm sure Yoshi could fit this into FFXIV flawlessly.

Gonna tackle this one as a few different points:

Would love flying mounts in the game, and most FF titles have had personal flying mounts. Gold Chocobos, Drakes, and Personal Airships come to mind.

Within the context of this world and the lore behind this game, personal Garlean flyers shown in the cinematic would be cool. Perhaps a quest chain that involves capturing, then studying the mechanics of it and applying that to a more personal and smaller version.

From a technical standpoint i really think flying mounts are way off in the very far distant future if ever. Based on DEV comments on more basic requests and the seemingly difficult addition to code ( ls chat messages and linking items, to name a few). I really don't see this being something the DEVs can add easily, were talking about changing maps, adding in a lot of collision, physics, not to mention all the animations they would need to create.

Dragon mounts would be an AWESOME addition/perk to Dragoon. Yes, Please!

I was thinking it could work if they made a sky zone that you could use what ever flying things they add like personal airship, flying chocobos or dragons.

It would just basically be you in the sky with a lower rez map of the world below you where you could see the camps and cities, and maybe just take off or land there, maybe make different types have different speeds. City Airship would be fastest, and personal ones would be maybe 1/3 of that speed.

Dragons are pretty cool, I just don't want to see SE over saturate the game with dragons like World of Warcraft has... Dragon raids, dragon dungeons, dragon mobs, dragon pets, dragon mounts, dragon expansions, blue dragons, green dragons, black dragons, purple dragons, gold dragons, red dragons, baby dragons!!!!!!!!!! It makes them feel a lot less "epic"... :(

I highly doubt they would ever do that though. xD
