The majority of leveling was spent in Northern Thanalan, near the Dark Devices fate, as well as in Urth's Gift. Dap was on Bard (~ilv101), choco was mostly in Free stance.

Thank you for the response. I assumed he was most likely on a bard, their killing speed is out of this world.

From level 10 onvards (after using first Thanvarian Onion) it keeps rewarding the same amount of the XP as at level 9 so you need more and more Krakka Roots for each level (it's about 0.9% at level 10 resulting in just over 111 Krakka roots for that level). So in principle - the XP gained by training is "frozen" on the last pre-onion level and as result the percentage goes down as the XP needed for each next level goes up. It's about 0.6% only at lvl 15 or so. The good news is that weekly Challenge Log bonus is still full 15% (5 + 10) of the current level max XP ;) (note though that it shows as zero while chocobo is stabled)

It looks like it would be about 200ish krakka roots for 19-20 without challenge log or fighting mobs.

But rank 9 is 12k exp. He said at 19 it was 18k (and about that at 11 as well). Which is correct?

if you let other people pull and help killing the mobbs from outside their group you can earn up to 500+ exp per water elemental

more ppl in a group means more links, but also decreased base exp for everyone. Most ppl in a group have no clue about -how to get links- which makes 8 ppl groups a pain the most time and sometimes even worse then solo farming
