Make gil BOA. Eliminate crafting for profit. Add more real content to the game other than dancing from tree to tree in pursuit of wood, and sitting at your bench crafting a bunch of junk. Honestly, they need to do something because account hacks and viruses are no fun, and gil farmers are annoying, and there's no reason this should be happening. I'd rather lose 20% of players who only want to run the economy than have to spend a bunch of money paying people to manually fix this and watch players leave because they're tired of the exploits. As 2nd poster said, stop buying gil. It's not hard to get more than you need to be where you need to be in the game.

The best way to stop RMT is by stop buying Gil from RMT.
The best way to stop RMT spam, is creating a code that prevents users from sending /t ever minute or so. Unless on friends list.
Shouts and /say would have even greater restrictions. (I rarely use them anyway)
Market place is fine, just have someone(s) monitoring sales. No one is going to buy a swan feather for 100,000,000 So unless the RMT goes out and makes HQ 5 materia gear and sells it (which is total legit)
Of course if someone buys it for more than standard market price. Red flag.
You will never get rid of RMT, but you can stifle it. Keep it contained. Right now, SE has bigger things to worry about. RMT on FFXIV isn't nearly as bad as some other games. there is nothing to buy anyway so spending USD on gil is like levelling multiple characters for story rewards. waste of time.

So you want to force people to join a free company.....um why?

I suggest stop bumping this thread. Majority doesn't agree with it.

Oh come on folks. An idea that is this incredibly bad yet thoroughly worked out can't be anything but a joke.
