They delayed that content, they did not delay the launch. And they have not stated a specific date for the 2.1 update. Whatever content is included in the 2.1 update, it is not delayed until it passes an announced date.
It will probably be at least 2 weeks longer than the devs had originally hoped for, because that first 2 weeks they were busy increasing server capacity and adding more servers. I'm sure they were not developing content during that time.
3 months for content updates is unacceptable
wasnt ffxi every other month in it's prime?
XI and XIV are 2 different beasts entirely, please stop confusing the 2 or using the history of XI as a theory for XIV.
Content Updates every 3 months is pretty much the MMO-STANDARD. Large content patches ever 3-6 months. Sometimes as long as a YEAR for real content, horizontal or not.
"in it's prime."
FF14 just opened a few months ago and you guys want perfection on everything? They are still debugging current content in prep for the future 2.1 update. FF11 was no where near perfect when released. Rather have smooth running content with as little bugs as possible rather then some cluster of coding that explodes when you enter an instance. I can wait another month for things to be running smoothly. Everyone here crying about the delay reminds me of little kids asking their moms for candy before dinner and getting rejected. "MOM BUT I WANT IT NOWWWWW."
