bad behavior of players

hi,
this issue I'm going to say someone must do something about it.

I stayed for hour to form a party for NM drop item, after that we went to the camp and found another party is farming, we asked them if they going to finish soon, they said they will leave soon, so we waited for another hour and they were very kind and left, then we started farming the NM, 30minutes. then some LS party came and take over the camp from us without saying any word, and we tried to speak with them that this is a not good behavior what they did, and no reply, we tried to fight to get our camp back but without no luck, they always pull the NM before us (some sort of better connection and pc maybe) idk !!!!
so we left the camp and later we form a party for another NM and when we there framing the same party came and they take over the camp again with the same way.

we used to have a good players in ffxi with no such bad ppl. what happing in ffxiv is they going to spoil it?, is SE going to do anything about this?

hope they do something about this, cos i from that time don't like to camp for NM anymore.

Most people are dicks, and be like "Oh we didn't see you send a tell".

That's so sad... :( If you know which LS it is you can talk to an officer.

In this scenario, use warmonger, it's countdown timer (while using MRD) is exactly 3 minutes, which is the same as the key holder's pop window. So pop warmonger as soon as the key holder spawns, then pop it again as soon as the timer runs out even if you don't see the key holder on your screen yet. If you do that, you'll grab the claim 100% of the time.

As much as I agree that people should try to negotiate this kind of stuff and they shouldn't just ignore your tells (maybe they just couldn't understand and didn't bother trying to use google translate?) some competition is bound to happen, and that isn't bad.

If they can't even both to say "I don't understand" then I think that's even worse.

crying on the forum doesn't help anything this is mmorpg, your case isn't as worst as pvp mmorpg where ppl will simply PK your pt or train your pt and hope you die for drop

edit: you should blame yourself and your pt for not being able to defense your spot

and about the competition, its should be there but not like this AdvancedWind, you like to be in the same situation and you can't do anything about it?

My suggestion , throw em out there , name of ls , members in the party ect , let your server and the forums know who they are cuz thats about all u can do at this point , hopefully enough people have your same feelings and do something about it i.e. shun there ass's, refuse to party with them ect. this game has to low of a player base , we need to try and keep what active players we have, not be a bunch of D-Bags and crap over everyone else .

You could always try one of the things we all hate and MPK em :) Jk dont do that, it could get your account banned, but its always funny when it happens

I'm sure I would also be annoyed, but there are things that are beyond our control in a multiplayer game (IE: other players' behaviours) and really, unless the other party did something against the game's rules, there's IS nothing that can be done other than maybe tell the people on your server to avoid them. Well, actually, we could try and ask SE to make something like "stealing another party's camp" a bannable offense, but that would be pure BS.

i can respect the right of another party to have time to get the camp, I will not camp the whole day for it and don't want anyone to take it.
if some party comes to the same camp while i'm there and asked me when you going to finish i'll stay a lil then i'll leave it for them.
but when you come and take it without say a word and even don't reply thats not nice behavior

Welcome to open world content...Let the camping games begin ALA FFXI :P. I don't know what to tell you op. I hate it for you. I really do, however this is what players wanted. Me personally I would prefer something like they did in FFXI, where you could get rare/ex items, most of them anyways, via the BCNM or something like that or via camping monsters. I wish they would do the same thing here. Farm seals, spend them on an instanced battle, hope for drop, and you are done. Instead of putting together a party for god knows how long, to get to camp, to only have to wait, then have some random group or RMT come up and steal the mob that you worked so hard to camp...

The only thing I can say is good luck, and many of us, especially those of us who are FFXI vets...we feel your pain...*pat pat pat*

Yes, welcome to Open World content indeed. You wouldn't have that problem in an instance. Or SE could implement pop items like in FFXI Abyssea content. But some NMs are just going to be Open World and that's the way it goes. I know in FFXI if another party wanted a mob, we took turns. Sorry for the bad experience.

surprised so many people are with the op on this, ffxi was the same and so is i think every mmo. NM's are usually a competition. only thing is the servers are so empty right now your just used to being able to not have any comp. if the game was up to par i doubt u will ever find a NM worth camping not filled with people fighting for claim. i too hate when people camp on top of me, mostly for grinds but for NM's i get annoyed but i just shrug it off as something that happens, if it's grinds i will switch to my 50 and kill everything in site most likely and do that every time i notice that group grinding.

i do want every drop though to become rare/ex though (but still be able to materia somehow) i hated in ffxi rmt out claiming me every single time. i never did get a drop on them nm's till they went rare/ex and you won't believe the amount of time i spent trying lol. you would think SE would of learned by now to make it all pop items and rare/ex stuff.

this is idiotic. They don't have to wait for you to get your drops. You decided to waste an hour waiting on the other party.
In XI people didn't go "oh you are camping yinyang robe? Let me clear the way for you"

shit no, we fought for it and it was awesome. and if others had claim we didn't blame it on their internet.

It may not be "nice" but it is part of the game. Douches will always exist and complaining about a specific experience on the forums will hardly do any good for anyone.

People should just mark the players' names down, avoid them on the future, tell their friends to do the same and let it go, if it bothers them that much that not everyone will want to quietly waste their time waiting for another party.

This wasn't an exp party, it was for a NM/coffee key. Expect competition for that, embrace it, it fun, it builds character (so we don't have to listen to you cry here). I will agree that in exp grinp camps this shouldn't be common place and usually isn't.

You just need to know how to beat them at their own game. Their is nothing better than watching a party roll in to try to pull this crap only to watch them walk away with their tails between tier legs because they can't outclaim you for the keyholder. That's especially true when it's a rival LS. :P I'll be nice and not name names, but it's happened to my LS. You should have heard the cheering on voice chat. lol

while mmorpg is a gerne of game but it is a world itself with a lot of competition doesn't matter it is pve or pvp mmorpg, there will be no one to babysitter you on your entire game, if you are crying over that small thing, mmorpg is not the type of game for you (fps as well), go for something else offline

note: I am not being mean or a dick, telling you the truth, lucky to you this is pve, if it is pvp it ll be worst. But I cant believe it when you really took advice of those ppl who show pitty on your crying, and I cant believe that you actually do what they told you to do by write the other play name :D

I ll give you 1 advice: Those player that show pity for you on internet usually are those that dont give a damn about you.

I love this sort of competition, you just need to know how to claim, I remember when Serket was hevily camped in FFXI the days I spent there with LS mates when I would loose claim, just waiting for them to wipe, which rarely happened, but when we would get claim it felt awesome and I always seemed to do the fight better when there was competition while people were watching.

I like contested claims as well. There was no greater joy during my time in FFXI then when I claimed Morbolger after a week of camping. Yes, it can be frustrating when others claim instead of you, but once you do get the claim and the drop, it's that much more rewarding.

Dunno which server you're on, but we used to have a really horrible bunch on Pandemonium...
Both JPs and NAs are culprits. Jackasses are cross-cultural.

NPCs will always be nice to you, but in an MMORPG you play with real humans, so it's like living in the real world; there are nice people and not so nice ones.

That's how this world is, and therefore how MMOs also are.
It won't help at all to post names on the forums.
People will still team up with them, either because they don't think they did something wrong or because they can get drops, exp or whatever by teaming up with them.

I'm not one of those people, I'm not even one of those who like competition in claiming mobs.
I get seriously pissed off when a party is not leaving the moment they see my party is already there, but I keep that anger to myself, and that's it.
You need to become thick-skinned to stuff like that.

Darn I still remember the good old day's we would camp out to tame a Unicorn or Nightmare in Ultima online! there would be an amazing fight over it and when I say fight I mean an all in war to the end you die you lose pretty much everything you have! Yes many people would cry or lose their temper! Including myself to be honest but that was fun, the risk factor made the game amazing. I can't imagine how many people would leave this game if there was a total free loot PVP system! where if you are killed you basicly lose all your items in your inventory. I know I went a little off topic but just want to say you miss an NM today just come back tomorrow it's no big deal!

the people afraid of competition are starting to take this to a new level. maybe mmo's in general are not the type of game that should be played. i agree that it's not nice and most people will leave the area alone if some are there, but there's alot that won't. i've enjoyed forcing quite a few out of a zone. if a group comes and tries to camp on top of us we will not only run them out of the area, but follow them until they completely zone out.

competition is fun. playing with and competing against is the biggest draw that a mmo has for me honestly. i hate to say it, but once the population goes up you will be competing alot more than you are now.

Hmm I played on Pandemonium when i was doing the XI thing and it was pretty much understood by everyone that you grab for the NM when it pops, dibs to the winner. Least that's how I remember it. I remember camping things and fighting for claim all the time and that was the norm.

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized people (most of the time) try and work together or take turns in XIV. I've had people do things like this to me and while I was annoyed at the moment I always try and think back to XI and claiming against others. One one hand it is polite to wait your turn or work together, but on the other hand there is only one of that mob and plenty of players that want to get at it. It seems natural that there would be competition for the mob sometimes. Those same people that are taking your mob worked hard to get a party or get to that spot and want to claim it as badly as you.

But yea, Open world content is a competition. Some people will be reasonable, most will just be jerks. When communication fails you have to know how to out jerk the jerks.

I am reminded of the sky farming and the old aliance a good number of shells had agreed to. you got a night and time frame blocked out for your group and you went and did your thing. the others in said group had there own time blocks so it resulted in pretty easy going for gaining pop items. Then there were the people who did not go along with it.

when one of those groups showed up you just had to deal with it and out do them. Simple as that.
